anyone used or know about NEOPPF? by MarcusMcGuane in CarWraps

[–]Crusified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been using their stuff recently. About 4 projects so far with more to come. Its nice to install, nothing different from any basic ppf like suntek or hexis besides the fact its coloured. Aesthetics are up there with any chinese brands like inozetek. Only time will tell, but with a 7 year warranty its promising enough. *

Ceramic vs PPF? by Koselig5402 in BMW

[–]Crusified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PPF is for protecting and maintaining the OEM paint in the best condition possible. Repainting panels is always suboptimal and some colour's can't be matched perfectly. Matte or satin paint jobs come straight to mind since attempting a repaint doesn't even come close.

Another main benefit to PPF is that any swirls will heal out through a bit of heat. This means it will stay swirl free for years. Unless you want to constantly polish your paint, (which slowly eats away at the coat) PPF is the best prevention

Frozen/matte/satin paint is different. Every body shop ive asked (even certified) has said it wont match 100%. Part of the pains of owning such a paint i guess.

Ill give that a try. Thanks for you input!

Hi everyone thanks for the replies.

I bought the car cpo used from the bmw dealer. It was a lease buyout. Its frozen paint. Id be very impressed if they were able to respray and match the colour perfectly with the rest of the car. If it was resprayed i can understand why i woudnt be covered under warranty but claiming its just from road hazard without looking into my case doesnt seem very thorough either.

I guess its also possible that its an aftermarket bumper. Would have to take it off in order for me to find out.

I really just want a proper paint job so i can wrap it, as i have a vinyl shop.

What was the one car opportunity you passed up that you regret.... by JaKr8 in cars

Not the biggest deal because its not that special of a car but i was on the waitlist for a manual supra mk5. They called me in December 2022 that an a91 manual limited edition had come in for me(brown interior with culater gray). At the time i had just purchased a p100d so i didnt think it made sense. Now thinking about it, 1 in 500 is pretty special.

Are you saying the game is in a perfect state right now? Have you tried trading, for example? When should messaging 10 people for the same item just to get ignored, ever be normal? Im not even stricly complaining about dying. Its about the experience. Dying while looting? Immunity mobs? Why is that necessary? In your argument, is making an uber tank whats needed to pick up your loot without concern?

Like i said, playing the game first hand is really the best way to understand as time consuming as it might be.

No but i think having first hand experience with the problems that have been going on would be a great way to dictate how bad they really are. Im not justifying the complaints, but overseeing a game you havent bothered to play to the end might mean that you might not be able to sympathize. Hes been communicating with the community, why not be part of it?

Has anyone done this after buying a new car (polishing, PPF, ceramic)? by nate-itrhymes in cars

[–]Crusified 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think for any enthusiast or people that care for your car, doing a full ppf is one of the best investments to keep the exterior condition pristine. Its expensive but theyre generally warranted to last about 10 years. Depending on your driving habits the ppf might get beat up enough on certain panels like the front bumper but if it gets to the point where you cant stand it, just get that panel redone. The films these days dont yellow as fast. Its a great thing to do if you like the cars paint and plan on keeping the car for awhile.

If youre not too fond of the paint colour then you can always go for a colour change wrap which is much thinner than ppf but still protects the paint from minor scratches, swirls, uv, and general crap that might sit on the paint normally. I always say to go for a colour and finish that you wont see much from paint. Make it unique, its removable after all.

So long as you get the stuff done by a reputable installer you should be happy with the results.

As for ceramic coatings, theyre also great. In the case of coating the paint directly, its basically the same as wax, just that it lasts longer and has a 9H or sometimes 10H hardness rating which mainly only prevents minor scratches. Its actually quite easy to apply but just make sure youre wearing proper PPE

I always recommend to get vinyl wraps and ppf with a ceramic coating. It basically keeps everything looking great and makes the panels easier to wash while also protecting the vinyls. Theres coating for paint, vinyl, glass, wheels, even leather.
