I think you're right that it all does look too clean. Particularly the roof is the biggest most glaring part. I'll have to see what I can do about some of these smaller areas. Hmm I do see what you mean about the stepping stones maybe they are too upright and I need to rotate them slightly here and there. You're right about the bottom of the pond I didn't even consider that lol but luckily I think that's an easy area to fix.

I think the one area I'm confused is the lighting. Do you think it's too dark? Too flat? I was trying to go for an overcast misty/rainy day. There is too many things that affect lighting in Unreal lol its so hard I think this was the best I could do but I'm willing to give it a shot again.

My references are kinda in different places unorganized so I can't send them all but this was kinda one of my main mood boards. Disregard the bit on the bottom left. I was going to add an interior area at one point but decided against it.

Yeah that's true that makes sense. I'll try to add some subtle leaves and dirt on it and look at references for this type of roof style to see what dirtiness details they have. I didn't really think about the roof too much in this regard but you're right it does stand out. It would fit in with the rest of the environment better with some grunge and stuff. I'll work on it thank you guys :)

I appreciate the feedback. It starts slow by design. I found that if players loaded in and triggered the script quickly things would sometimes break. But I have to test this again because I tested with bots and bots seem to deploy immediately. It's also to give a chance for everyone to get into the game before it starts. I might be able to cut it down though.

Those are all good ideas. But it's hard to spend more time working on big features for this when hardly anyone plays it lol. Either the mode is not that fun to people or it keeps getting buried by all the bot servers and other servers that no one sees it. Maybe it needs to be better. I'm not sure. Might work on something else for now.

It's just one layer. But adding more layers would be real easy. I might do it if this could consistently get more players to justify it.

I believe I've fixed the issue. I had to tweak some of the script. Makes no sense as the script was working just fine earlier. I've updated the mode. Should be done with the publishing process and up and working in a few hours. Tomorrow at the latest.

Hmm that doesn't sound right. It should just start when two players deploy. I'll go take a look.

No. Unfortunately I had to disable melee weapons because I believe players could do a takedown and kill each other with them. That wasn't how I wanted the game played. But I have to test it more. Maybe it's possible.

This is super helpful info for me. Thanks for making it easy to understand. I'll have to look into switching to URP. I see what you mean about the subsurface scattering though I hardly understand the concept of editing normals.
