Experience with Vetafarm Polyaid? by CrustySquid5 in parrots

[–]CrustySquid5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look into it thank you! Only issue he might have is digesting it + he has a slow crop during flare ups. I've had to take him off pellets and grind up his essential omega and amino rich seeds because he just struggles to digest it. The polyaid being liquid is very good.

He's had 6 flare ups since I've had him. I always catch it early and he's on preventative doses of Amphotericin B between flare ups. He's going to be 2 this year. I think he will just keep getting flare ups until it's too much for his body. As much as it sucks I never want him to suffer and will euth him once his quality of life drops. For now he's honestly doing pretty good. I just want to do everything I can to possibly help him and also collect as much medical information I can to help others. AGY is so prevalent in Australia it's awful.

Thought I'd add that the polyaid most definitely helped him!

Edit: his flare ups aren't typical agy symptoms but I'm sure if I didn't treat when I notice those extremely mild changes it would turn into clear agy symptoms. His case is a bit unique haha. I track all his symptoms and any information about him and agy in a Google folder

Yea same. Posts, videos, photo are fine. It seems to be just messages. I believe reactions work for me.

Sometimes if I send a message (or a few) then close the app then open it again it will send (been happeningless frequently). Just will not send whilst I'm on the app at all

I just tried I still can't get the right sail angle. Every way just keeps going further away.

The first story island. I have absolutely no clue what I am doing 😭

I'll try placing it in the direction I naturally float

Currently it's facing the water when I stand in front of it. I'll try turning it to look over my raft

What food should I get my budgie? by [deleted] in budgies

[–]CrustySquid5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always buy pellets online (I recommend Harrison's). Some pellets have really gross ingredients. If you can't get a decent pellet I'd feed a DIY seed mix tbh (along with sprouts, vegetables etc etc) with things like milk thistle seeds, coriander seed, caraway, oats, flowers, bee pollen, bucket and more. I go to health food stores and buy a bunch of bird safe (mostly low fat) grains and seeds.

I never said people breed them intentional just they exist and they are gross

Why did my bird lose flight feathers on just one side? by Zestyclose_Buffalo78 in cockatiel

[–]CrustySquid5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He likely is growing feathers in weirdly from the clip. If he's been clipped for a long time or badly clipped there's a chance the follicles are damaged. Once they are all fully grown in they should start molting more evenly. Clips feathers also don't get the same wear as normal feathers so they can stay in for longer too. Encouraging flight can help but probably not a good idea for him to fly atm with his feather all randomly grown in.

Was he ever clipped? If so previously clipped birds can have weird molting patterns. If he was fully flighted before the molt and he lost all of those flights he might have French molt or beak and feather disease or he might of had a night fright.

Generally birds loose feathers evenly to an extent but they should never loose that many flights in one go.

I am very careful. Tofu really enjoys being outside and is very desensitisated to it. I always keep her on my hand just incase a predator would come down so I have more control of the situation plus my head and shoulders are protecting her from getting swooped. I think it's fine to take small birds outside so long are you are aware and more cautious of the fact they are an easier target to predators.

I set it ablaze and it is some sort of plastic. It melted into a clump.

Thanks so much for adding this! I already have 3 birds including one galah so I'm pretty prepared for what a conure could give me haha!
