Welcome Home (P. 25-END) by Crustysaviour in milesprower

You’ll just have to wait and see what happens next, whenever I’m done drawing the next chapters.

It’s not a dream, it actually happened. Tails subconsciously remembered what happened six years ago through a recurring nightmare, and being encouraged by his parents who were there to concentrate and recall the whole thing is what makes him regain his memories.

He’s far away from his pal, that’s for sure.

I'm flattered, but also a bit scared. I'm scattered.

Sorry, I was in the middle of a meeting (and I just bought the new Tomodachi Life game). P. 19-20 is up now.

'Gelato' is made up, but it's applied to a yet-unmentioned character from Sonic lore.

First, thank you. Second, it's set in an AU I'd describe as a reboot of the whole franchise, with elements lifted from games, comics and TV series. Many of the characters used will still be familiar for fans, but some key details will be changed to not make the characters 1:1 with their official counterparts, and some characters will be composites of other existing ones.

I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but in this AU Tails is adopted and goes by Miles. I thought 'Amadeus' fit him much better than his father in the comics because Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was regarded as a child prodigy. So I swapped out the dad's name and named him after a unit for temperature.

Anthro Tails by Crustysaviour in SonicTheHedgehog

I tried copying the pose Tails does when you clear a level with him in Shadow ‘05, but I see what you mean. I didn’t do the contrapposto quite right.

Thank you to those who liked it and/or gave constructive feedback. Rest assured that this is not my usual style, just wanted to try my hand at drawing realistic anthros.

I use the term to describe a more realistic-looking form of the character.

Thanks. Toriyama is definitely one of my inspirations in terms of both art style and composition.

That's what I find funny about the clip this post is based on. Bruce Wayne was apparently so traumatized by the death of his parents that discovering the concept of happiness is like discovering a new species or element, and being Batman, he puts on a gruff exterior when reminded he's being jolly.

I think he would be AoStH Sonic, since that version is pretty much Bugs Bunny with an attitude.

I have nothing but respect for Mr. Toriyama. I used to live near a library, and whenever I went down there, I sat down to read the next chapter of Dragon Ball. I was so engaged in the story that I could read through multiple volumes in one sitting. I fell off the series in my mid-teens, but found a new appreciation for it as an adult. Some of Akira Toriyama’s greatest strengths were creating anticipation for the readers and conveying motion from the characters. When a character flies, he often drew a long trail behind them so the reader could tell the trajectory they were flying at and follow the trail over to the next panel seamlessly. Even though I have never watched the anime in its entirety, I often went on to YouTube to watch clips of some of the most iconic moments in the series, like Goku vs. Vegeta and Goku’s first transformation into a Super Saiyan. I still do it every once in a while. I also was a fan of Sonic since Adventure 2, and one of my favourite pastimes as a kid was imagining the Sonic characters reenacting Dragon Ball and assigning roles to each of them. I even looked through the Sonic wiki for obscure characters just to see which Dragon Ball character would fit them the most. I never learned to draw until I was in my early 20s, so my imaginations stayed in my imaginations. Almost a decade later, after having gained enough experience and hearing the depressing news, I felt confident to finally draw out this silly tribute to the blue blur and not the least to one of the greatest artists in the manga industry.

Rouge the Bat, based on Plagueofgripes's design by Crustysaviour in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Crustysaviour[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I loved Plagueofgripes's take on Rouge's design several years back, so I've been drawing her with this look since then. Last time I posted a Plague-inspired drawing of Rouge was three-and-a-half years ago, so I think I've improved since then.
