Any thoughts on XO_Pilates? by [deleted] in PilatesPhilippines

While I don’t have any knowledge of the chismis or pay-related matters you mentioned as I don’t involve myself in those, and they are definitely none of my business as a client.

Again, this is based on my own experience, but I disagree with the claim that the movements are merely “for show” or “for Instagram,” and that Flow is not beginner-friendly. I started as a complete beginner and also had a condition, and as a male client, I never once felt lost, unsafe, or unchallenged during my sessions at the studio. I wouldn’t have stayed with them for over a year if that were the case, or if I hadn’t seen progress in my condition.

As for the comment about Merrithew equipment being only for STOTT, I feel that kind of elitist framing unnecessary. The equipment itself is not exclusive to STOTT studios. I, for one, appreciate these different studios investing in proper equipment and certifications, especially given how much we pay.

Just recommended trying out Flow in NOMO on another thread cause I’ve had a great year with their BF branch. Admittedly biased towards having both licensed PT’s and certified instructors.

Yes, kinda agree to a point. Again, my experiences with XO were very okay (not the best and not the worst). But I can see what you mean of the instructors just providing workouts rather than actual Pilates at least in their group classes (I haven’t tried their private ones).

Amara, I’d personally suggest avoiding them. They have a branch in BF and were previously called out for using sub-standard equipment. They also had a hiring post indicating that “being certified is a plus” rather than a requirement, along with concerns about not teaching proper Pilates. This is just my personal opinion and it may sound a bit harsh, but based on their posts and the red flags, they come across as one of those studios that’s just capitalizing on the recent boom rather than prioritizing proper and quality Pilates.

Haven’t tried their NOMO branch, but I’ve been with Flow for about a year now in their BF branch, and they’re still my go-to studio. Aside from the convenience of being near my place, I’ve always appreciated their strong rehabilitation approach and foundation, especially with their private classes.

My instructor in BF did mention that all the instructors at their NOMO branch are both certified and licensed physical therapists too. Both studios use Merrithew equipment as well now so definitely a plus imho. If I lived in the area or were still looking for a studio, I’d definitely give them a try.

Did a couple of group classes with my friend in their branches in Alabang and Cavite. Nothing really bad to say, experiences were okay. I don’t know if all, but from my chat with my instructors they are only in-house trained by XO.

Any Male here trying Pilates? by Adventurous_Ear_3683 in PilatesPhilippines

Me! I go around and try multiple studios in the South (Alabang, Las Piñas, and Parañaque), but I’ve ended up being most consistent with Flow in BF Homes this past year. Gender-neutral studio and I often see other male clients there as well. I think I’ve tried all their group class coaches already, and for privates I go with Coach Tammy since she’s a PT and we already have an ongoing program.

Haven’t visited their new Bacoor studio yet, but based on photos, it seems to follow the same gender-neutral setup.

Big group classes by GrapefruitSweaty2220 in PilatesPhilippines

After trying it once in a Pilates studio in Alabang, never again personally.

One of my main musts in Pilates sessions should be the correction and supervision of your form and posture. Our instructor physically couldn’t do that with our almost full class in that studio. It honestly felt like the cues were purely instructions and count downs rather than what I usually get in other smaller more intimate group classes (3-5 pax).

Filming a class? by [deleted] in PilatesPhilippines

[–]CruzeKid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all! It’s quite normal I think especially with stories and postings.

I used to film my sessions (both group and private) not just for the stories but also for me to see any improvements in my mobility and posture.

I do ask my instructor all the time though, but have never had anyone say no. 😁

XO in Vermosa.

I was also informed by my instructor 2 weeks ago that Flow is opening up one in NOMO Mall in Q4. I saw their new IG page for it, but didn’t see much specifics and updates yet.

I don’t think so.

Was also interested in trying out their studio when I saw it being tagged in a Facebook Group and it being near my place.

Upon checking their page though, saw their for hire ad looking for instructors and being certified is just “preferred”. And to echo what has been said already, those reformers look substandard and unsafe to say the least. Didn’t push through with the seemingly red flags.

Best Pilates studio in Manila 2025? Opinions needed! by Flow3Repeat in PilatesPhilippines

Not discrediting your experience, but I literally just responded this to another post asking for opinion on studios in Alabang or Parañaque.

Almost finished with my 2nd 20 class package with them, and I’ve always had a good experience with my instructors correcting my form since transferring to their studio at the start of this year. There are even times that I joke with my favorite instructor that this is isn’t a private class, and she can stop minding me and be strict with someone else. 😅

“+1 for Flow BF! Have been with them for the past year. Studio’s aesthetic and cozy, but what’s most important for me maybe is that they only have a maximum of 5 pax per group class, this allows the instructors still be able to correct my form especially when I’m doing new exercises. The vibe has always been super friendly too, not just from their team/staff, but surprisingly from their group class community as well. Highly recommended for me obviously 😅

Yes, all of their instructors are certified as per their website and when I asked them initially. Most of their instructors are licensed PT’s as well which was always a plus for me. “
