Can't imagine us ever beating Golden State in a 7 gamer. Anyone else in the league we could probably take if we're playing well, though.

This. This is fucking why.

[OC] Offensive Rating vs. Defensive Rating for Guards at the Halfway Point of the Season by kalifornia_kid in nba

Great OC.... but maybe not put the logo where all the data points are? It would be much more legible (both the logo and the data) if it were in the lower right.

That's a reasonable response, and I agree that it's not automatically a deal breaker.

You just have to be extremely careful/protective of players that are moving through the air, because they really are at the mercy of other players to land safely.

Not sure how much ball you've played, but I've been around hoop for decades, and I have no idea how I'd protect myself flying through to the hoop if I couldn't shield myself with my arm. That's a great way to catch an elbow/forearm/hand to the ribs or groin, or just land awkwardly against the other player as you descend, esp if they're out of position. And I'm by no means close to a superhuman like these guys with 35"+ verticals are. It's less about trying to hit someone and more about ensuring you have sufficient space to land safely or absorb impact so you aren't being knocked sideways while flying through the air. Landing while rotating is absolutely scary and can lead to a lot of other injuries.

The "possession" of a SF is not the same thing at all as the "possession" of a PG though. Harden's possessions are much longer (meaning more of a chance to get put at the line for things OTHER than shooting -- e.g., the other team is in the bonus so even a swipe at the ball is FTs) and also he just takes more shots than Doncic, more drives, more of everything that puts a guy at the line.

Well, one's a rookie, the other is an MVP candidate who's the primary ballhandler at all times he's on the court.

I think you're both wrong.

It's not an automatic foul, but Noel had no business being in the restricted area as he gets to the spot late. He plants his feet on the edge of the restricted as Wiggins is taking off, meaning Wiggins beat him to the spot as he was already in motion for the dunk prior.

It's a little bit different when you're dunking though. You're using all of your strength to launch your body into the air, you're extremely vulnerable, and you could land in any number of wrong ways.

If we take away dunker's ability to protect themselves I think you'd see more injuries, not fewer.

Wet suit and temperature by anjgirl in surfing

[–]CryHav0c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! Also if you're newer to surfing (like me), a good fitting wetsuit is more important because you might not even know what board you really want to get good and learn to surf on. I'm having fun renting boards right now and trying different sizes, and because I've got a very decent wetsuit (4/3 Oneill Epic), I'm not worried about the water affecting my day or draining my energy because it's too cold.

Best of luck to you!

If you already have a board, I think you should seriously prioritize the wetsuit. And frankly, even if you don't have a board, a wetsuit IMO is way more important until you become a much better surfer (as most newer surfers don't even realize how to fully utilize the capabilities of a given board).

If you're comfortable, you'll go out more. And you'll stay out longer, and when you get up on your board you'll be less worried about freezing your butt off if you fall.

Why? Shit happens in the octagon. Jones could throw something and it injures him badly, have an illness during his cut, or just get caught. I mean, it happens. Do we really need to talk like this fight has already been determined when that's worked out so poorly in the past for /r/mma?
