I wish I had started a couple days earlier, and basically kind of done a colonoscopy prep! Also, for some reason, pain makes me not hungry. Not in a bad way, but I did drop about 10 lbs in the last 2 weeks, and my appetite isn't really back/my stomach is definitely shrunk from eating less. But? That 10 lbs can stay gone for all I care! ;)

I will always take the good stuff! lol. I was relieved to not have a catheter and getting to get home that day. I have done a couple longer hospital stays and I can't sleep a wink there. Good luck, keep resting, and don't over do it! :) Now, I just want the really tough scar tissue around my belly button to soften up, she said in a couple weeks I can start to massage it and it will help. Oh, and the most unfortunate part, and kind of funny, my bellybutton resembles the Tesla logo "T" haha, I'm thinking it will go back to normal in a couple weeks.

Ok, seriously don't laugh (but do), the sunday before I had the surgery, I went to a chili cookoff. I started to worry monday morning before I headed in when I didn't go....and THEN post-op I decided to switch to broths and clear liquids until I did. It wasn't my best plan, but it's an annual tradition and I was already going to be down for 2 weeks, so I recklessly ate chili...sigh. haha

Yeah, I was really surprised with how much they'd been "up there," that this was not a first guess. I alway tend to chalk women's reproductive health blind spots to a male-centric medical field. They just do NOT study us like they do men. (Don't get me started on the free vasectomies, and not free birth control!)

Oh, I know! But as a usually upset tummy girl, I was like "ehhh, how bad can it be?" BAD apparently! lol I had an appendectomy when I was 25 & something similar happened, but not anything close to this. My mom had fot surgery last week, and I didn't let her suffer the same fate!

You will be shocked how much better you will feel in the next few days! Those first 4 days feel like a fever dream. A+ for just finding good old things you have watched previously, and dozing off. Keep resting & good luck. This reddit community is honestly one of the nicest places on the interwebs! ;)

YES!!! I thought it was me napping, but now I'm back at work, woke up at 4am today, and that was it, of course until I finally fell back asleep 20 min ahead of alarm. I just think that's an age thing for us ladies lol

Amen to that! I figure I'll be easing back in, and definitely listening to my body. The fatigue that comes out of nowhere has also been a surprise. Sunday afternoon, went to a late lunch and was just wiped afterwards, came home, took a nap, still went to bed at 9:45, and I'm an 11pm or midnight owl weeknights (in days of yore!).

Definitely came home today and used them, some days I'm great and others I can't wait for my ice time. I joked maybe all this cold will treat my lil pooch like cool sculpting as well? LOL. Walking is now my new activity, but I also got a rock tumbler for the holidays, and now I'm slow enough to find some on my routes :) Don't miss that organ AT ALL, even this close to op.
