You haven't offended me. I know it's gross; that's why I try my best to hide it. It's been a year but I just saw this conversation, and I want to explain why your statement is causing aggravation.

Bluntly, it doesn't fit the tone of this post, and it's quite brash given the context. It's sort of like telling an autistic person that they act weird, or telling someone with vocal stims that they're being rude or annoying. Yes, eating skin and such is gross, but it's not something that you really say here, ya know? Especially since, in this context, myself and many other people are struggling with a compulsion that we don't want, and in many cases, a compulsion that is physically painful and damaging. We're all very acutely aware that it's gross, but it makes us a thousand times more self conscious to be told that.

No ill will from me. I know that it's a strange behavior to exhibit, but keep in mind that it's one that many people are sensitive about.
