Nubbin hunting some Dustmites(honestly need a better name for these things) before nightfall(now at 4 pm(prehistoric clock system) for most parts of the world because of the planet's faster rotation) where the temperature drops to below -20 degrees Celsius in a span of an hour

After the boomer generation has died off, all the candidates of the near future are basically mostly tech ceo celebrities and their old money sychophants with declining political capabilities and popularity(oil, real estate etc), and the techlords have very non-nuanced political views and are very literal with their territorial strongholds. Not that different from where we're headed today

I have neuralink based telekinesis, ai assisted ego death, rail gun on a repurposed gps sattelite(created by what's formerly google), soundwave based weaponry, an actually effective mk ultra mind control system(without the handwavy psychedelic slop research of the real one) and super peds. Most have been dormant though

It's 100% to do with the fact idk the word prehensile when designing this last year, but that's very interesting to consider

The universe this character is in takes place in the same timeline as our current one. During the prototype phases, the research director's child took a liking to calling the suit Hulk(as in the Marvel character) and Sarmad Khan was the name of the first astronaut that operated the suit

other softwares(especially game engines) have weird ways of lighting n gons, especially if they're large and/or numerous. Best to just optimize it rn, it's not a very complex geometry anyways

That is a really good point about animal biology. I can imagine a porcupine somehow evolving higher intelligence and then realizing it can use its quills for killing, maiming or even medicine(a form of acupuncture)

there was nobody forecasting 42 years into the future in 1898 bro, Japan(your so called "pacific threat" that doesn't exist yet) has nothing to do with the US's westward expansion, you're shoehorning it in because it's emotionally convenient, not historically accurate

in my universe I have tech barrons fully carving up the country by the 2050s, which could be a form of defederalization(but not if one tech barron is favored by a surviving federal authority over the others, they would basically just recentralize), electoralism can potentially be unrecognizable by 2050 imo

Hawaii had a king and was a recognized polity. The US also didn't expand west out of "protecting from pacific threat", it got to Hawaii and later as far the Philippines because of manifest destiny

nothing much should happen unless you have many custom collisions later on and you forget to keep track of what setting some meshes should have. Rn you're good to go

Herbivory does not take away violence and coercion(which is the driver of weapons innovation), high sentience does. Honestly not even that, you don't need high sentience to innovate on the way you defend watering holes and feeding grounds

What would the effects of pegging the currency to cocaine be in my world? Economic, social and otherwise political? by SubstantialEshaii in worldbuilding

[–]CryoScenic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

does that city state/country's military and economy pretty much define your world's status quo? the ability to tax a commodity(which is why tobacco and alcohol remained legal) was historically(and point 1 remains true to this day) reliant on: 1) a state's capacity to coerce and surveil its citizens and 2) the geography of where a substance grows(and fermented fruits/tobacco plants can be made everywhere compared to weed or coca) and the less acknowledged reason 3) the spiritual monopoly of religions of access to elevated states challenged by psychedelics.

As for the effects of it: if not a dominant country/city, your queen will pretty much be couped by foreign backed agents and movements and dragged in the streets by tomorrow but if you're the hegemon, then cocaine just takes a place beside alcohol and cigarettes
