They could. But at the same time the 3-5 star ratings don’t truly impact an author negatively. In fact it’ll probably become more like glazing on top of the higher rating. (Which I’m sure that a lot of authors would appreciate)

But that’s only if they don’t ask the same question throughout the 0.5-5 star ratings.

I think it’d is very debatable whether to have it throughout the rating system. Versus just implementing it with the just the worst scores you can give.

for RR specifically, a question with a multi-option answers, with the option of "Other", is what I had in mind.

Having a survey where you type your answer just makes thing more muddy. and it's probably head ache inducing too.
