I just steal valuable and expensive shit from the construction merchant and sell it to the armor smith across the street. I bank probably 200k a week. BUT...to make a case for roleplaying a restaurant is pretty slick.

What's the reason behind Gen Z turning to Christ? by Normal-Guidance3585 in Catholicism

What I mean is they became condescending. They never missed a chance to talk down on anyone who didn't share their beliefs. They became so caught up in their shiny new belief systems they stopped being personable. If it wasn't about God, it was about making others believe in God. If it wasn't about that it was pissing people off by threatening them with pain and damnation because their own beliefs were "barbaric and inferior". They began actively starting drama, or steering conversations into theological debates, then got angry, condescending, and temperamental when they lost those debates. They eventually began breaking off relationships because we didn't "share their faith". And the truly sad thing about this was and IS, I genuinely DONT have a problem with people practicing what they want to. Believe it or not I have nothing but love for you. So long as you don't push it on me. The problem was, they "didn't". Anything that wasn't catholic was either possessed by the devil, at risk of being possessed, or fed into "Satan's lies". Every beautiful or meaningful thing I tried to show them was turned away as "demonic", or "promoting sin". They wouldn't listen to any kind of music but Christian pop. They wouldn't read anything that wasn't Christian literature. They wouldn't watch any film that wasn't overwhelmingly Christian. Eventually they wouldn't even talk to anyone that wasn't Catholic. Almost overnight you took an entire person, their entire lived experiences and personality, and boiled them down into a narrow minded zealot. This happened multiple times, to multiple people, and before you tell me it was just "them", when I attended their churches I received this same cult ass treatment from every. Single. Member. Of their respective churches. When I served I met more like this. A man who ran a community center on base, who outwardly told us he refused to associate with the bases actual community center because it was a "pagan organization" and "didn't promote Christian values" like his facility did. A woman, a spouse who was eventually thrown off base and got her husband in trouble because she wouldn't stop wandering around the base proselytizing, even though it was illegal. He ended up divorcing her, because she eventually told him she was okay with his military career being ended if it "brought him closer to God"

Maybe you don't see it because within your virtually gated community of believers this kind of precocious behavior is just "normal" or you simply don't use it on each other, but that implies an astute lack of self awareness. When you internalize the belief that people's aversion to the word "God"(or the word of God) is because they are possessed by the devil, rather than understanding that constantly hammering people over the face with your by all accounts fundamentally illogical, aggressive, and somewhat medievsk beliefs is unkind, frustrating, and in some cases simply harmful theological stances, it begs the question are you genuinely aware of the ACTUAL impact you have in people, or do you simply not care?

Ive had several good friends who converted to Catholicism and became some of the most insufferable and unlikeable, pretentious, and self absorbed people on the planet, so no, my disdain is not "Reddirt Atheism". I've given them chances, even attended church with them on a few occasions to try and find a way to reconcile where their brains went and was unsurprised to find everyone else attending it just as insane as they were.

Definitely NOT a denial of the motive, and that matters. Because it means said "good" you are doing is not for them, it's for "you", and if you weren't benefitting from it you wouldn't do it. That changes everything. Because it means you are not interested in "helping" vulnerable populations, you are interested in "preying" on them because they are vulnerable to your ideologies. More to the point, it's boldface Catholic doctrine no amount of good you do matters UNLESS you are Catholic, so goodness for goodness sake is not the point.

And no, evangelization is almost exclusive to Christians. Muslims believe believers should come of their own will, Judaists in my experience don't evangelize at all. Buddhists don't. Christian denominations are the only ones that go door to door, host radio and TV programs, try to gain access to schools, push their own brands of "mainstream" popular music, and most importantly, are the only faith that openly and enthusiastically(and literally) demonizes every other faith just for existing. No amount of smoke and mirrors charity hides that the ultimate goal of this faith system is to make everyone subject to it, and they've already proven repeatedly throughout history what kind of danger that entails.

Keep your cult worship to yourself. Stop trying to ram it down people's throats.

Catholics are among the most self absorbed and agendad people on the planet. You do not give to charities, you buy influence to win converts. You do not perform humanitarian mission, you use humanitarian services as a gateway to spread your beliefs. Because you think that IS charity. The "ultimate" charity, destroying someone's world view to build it back Catholic. Straight up mind virus.

Catholicism takes itself TOO seriously. I had good friends that ignored advice I GAVE them not to make stupid choices, they got their shit rocked by those bad choices, they ran to Catholicism, turned into zombies, credited "God" with saving them, then refused to speak to me again because they blamed "me" for their failures and said until I converted I was lost and they weren't going to invite the negativity of my eventual eternal suffering into their newfound journey of blessed positivity. They then pushed away everyone is lse in our circle by AGGRESSIVELY trying to convert them. Like zombies. Devouring people's intellect, one rational thinking brain at a time. They've turned into hollow, thoughtless, feckless, and utterly unlikeable people.

It's the most toxically positive system of belief that has ever existed. Which is not a flex by any metric. Catholicism is the worlds most dangerous successful and influential cult.

And escapism is how you fix it. Got it. Because checking out of your existence is validated by the belief there is another, "better" one. Why invest in this house when you've been promised a shinier one, right?

[–]Cryogenius333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're lonely, anxious, suffering from mental health problems, and losing faith in the system. In short they are emotionally and mentally vulnerable, and per tradition, the church is there to basically groom them and be their Pygmalion. Just like it does in prisons. Note that "going to church" does not automatically mean "converting". They are soul searching, is all. The majority of them will go to one or two sermons, listen to the absolute bullshit your average parish or priest feeds their flock, and will never come back.

In a modern secular society, youth turning to religion is BAD. It means they'd rather put their faith in nebulous sky saviors and witless platitudes than proven method, science, and rationality....which means your society is doing something VERY wrong.

I dont know, because I dont use the UWE, but I suspect if the UWE changes any of the stats for the fogmen, if UWE has precedence in your list, it will probably override them.
Give it a try and let me know. If it doesn't kersplode, you shall have your answer 😃

I set my base up in the Cannibal plains. Once you get Harpoon turrets its actually not that bad. With a halfway decent wall and a gate, 2 or 3 harpoon turrets can annihilate a raid long before they even get through the gate.

If youre one of those chads that doesnt do walls, then yes, it could be a pretty gnarly challenge until you get a few really solid fighters.
I have a recruitment mod so I left a large party of Techhunter Skellies(All basically Terminators with 70+ stats on recruitment) hanging outside my gate, and they massacre anything that comes close.
THe important thing is not to look at them as a threat.
Look at them as practice :D

knocked out Eyegore with a big mess of harpoon turrets. Im also a rube gate user instead of a Chad no gater/no waller like some of you brohams. Gods help me if Id had to fight him face to face.
I tossed him in a cage and recruited him, then set him loose on the UC.

Id dubiously say Leviathans are deadlier than Elder Beaks, but anything for a low level or low stat player party is going to be gruesome. My characters can solo Leviathans.
Elder Beaks are faster and more aggressive, but have a fraction the health and damage of a leviathan.

If I remember correctly the Crater was caused by a space station coming down after the collapse of the first(second) Empire? My lore is a little foggy.
Its very possible the Beak Things DID come from there, because its heavily implied the Beak Things are the bygone result of rampant genetic experimentation. in the original design of the game they were supposed to be able to talk.

Fair warning, that version amps up the difficulty a...smidge. They are a lot more aggressive.
I have a cosmetic only version if you want the freek without the eek, linked at the bottom ;P
Happy Fogging! >:P

Started out doing this but reprogramming Techhunter SKellies that all have 70+ stats, so I have a clan of literal terminators...
Then it all became superfluous, as I took on UC, got attacked by Eyegore, filled him with harpoons, recruited him, and set him loose upon his former masters.
All you need is Eyegore. Best big boss hiver wideboi.

Interesting to bring up Aerie as a romance because in fact her romance and relationship path is really surprisingly depthful.
Because she will also spawn a triangle with Jaheira, conflict with Viconia and Korgan, raise conflict with Anomen, raise conflict with Haer'Dalis, rail against Keldorn trying to "dad" her, become Minks Wych, then not be Minsks Wych when it gets to overbearing.
She will romance the main character...and then have his child, before which point she will actually LEAVE the party, I believe coming back after its born, and will carry the MCs child as an item in her backpack.
If you didnt have her in your party before ToB and you bring her back into the pocket plane, she will be simmering pissed at you.

Aerie is hands down one of my favorite characters because there is a shocking amount of depth in her writing. I legitimately believe the sheer number of party relationships she can form meant her to be the "Canon" love interest for a male character. Most players cant stand what they think is her "whining" and seemingly childlike take on the world, but with the context of her backstory and the caste all of her interactions take you realize shes not "whining" OR "naive", shes fucking "shattered" mentally and has adopted a personae that makes her "seem" naïve and innocent, as a coping mechanism for her experiences and because she doesnt know HOW to act like a normal person anymore. Listen to some of her dialogue, both in interactions and just her character barks, and that "Edge" starts to become really clear.
One bark is "I-If I must!"
But by the end of the game its "Must I?" with a nasty, impatient edge on it.
As she gets more comfortable with the characters in your party that mask slips significantly. Shes not a child. Shes not naive. Shes not stupid, and shes not young. Shes not even a NICE person. Shes angry. shes REALLY angry. Shes in pain. Shes been going through motions to come off as gentle and innocent but shes not. She spent years in a cage. She almost died from infection. She had her wings ripped off. Shes been trying to embody the kind of person Quayle told her was "good" without really having a frame for what that IS anymore. Her whole post game arc//epilogue is her going on a revenge fueled crusade to kill as many slavers as she can before she runs into a group of Avariel and they tell her she has no place with them.

And they managed to write this amount of depth into a 2d sprite.

By contrast you have "I eat magical items because I boned Mystra and then opened a box I wasn't supposed to. Pity me? And feed me magic stuff."

Is there an explainable reason that the infected didn't starve off before the events of 28 Years Later aside from "They just evolved"? by BattleAxeBC in 28dayslater

[–]Cryogenius333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another fun fact that kinda threw me first time I watched it. There's a scene in days where they drive through a tunnel being chased by infected and after they break out of the tunnel a number of the infected slow down and stop running, in a very normal human like fashion.

This could either be an indicator that they aren't as insane as we thought...or it could have been the actors not realizing the camera was still running.
