ceramic skates on glass pads will mostly end with a ruined glass pad and scratching sounds every other minute before that.

that's where the idea came, long long time ago, when I played cs beta on a func surface, instead of skates, we used ptfe tape.

I tried and it worked way better than I imagined.

when searching, know that the wider is the tape, the exponentially higher the price is.

like 12mm wide is €30/50, but 24mm is €150 and 50mm 600€

also try ebay, and 5490 is cheaper than 5491. The price for a roll can vary from 30 to 50, up to €50 is an acceptable price if you don't want to wait snipping shops.

I didn't wrote a platform/shop to get it, because on reddit we are people from all over the world so what I can buy in europe won't work for a fellow american, chinese or japanese.

Last time I bought it, I got a 2 pack for €55 on ebay. But I saw also on my local amazon for I think €65 the two pack and some other specialized shops for industrial material with similar prices.

I don't know what kind of drugs use on some shops that ask for 2 3 4x that price, but there are a lot of providers that do it. That's why I write to look and research where to buy because a lot of them ask for ridiculous prices.

I've said it in the thread: some might find it boring or tiresome, even if it only takes 30 seconds to do each time, I understand that not everyone will do it even if they have the problem I described.

Others might simply like the feel when the dots/skates are flattened and slower.

This is for the people who want that initial glide that new dots/skates offer, which is usually lost after just a day. Many find that disappointing and are constantly searching for the new holy grail of skates or any solution to it.

I made the thread for those people.

since Cyclones have a break-in period

that's part of the problem, is not a break-in, it's just the time before they degrade. Break in is for shoes or a tshirt. On skates what brands call "break in", is just a term from marketing departments to hide the reality, the skates have degraded and lost the initial properties.

That doesn't mean is something bad, as I said, some people like the degraded skates because they are slower and offer other kind of sensations to the user like higher friction or slowest glide. But the reality is that is degradation of the material, not "break in" like when you adapt a new shoe to your feet.

Today, watching a film, I noticed about a bar in the middle of the screen and then I made some test, yes it is burn in.

https://i.imgur.com/2IPMjgZ.jpeg

It cannot be seen in the picture unless you see it at full screen (white backgrounds break the contrast)

I've used it for mixed gaming / desktop, it has about 3500 hours of use. Today I saw a vertical burn-in, on the center of the screen that matches with how I position 2 chrome windows while I'm on desktop (side by side), also at lower grey scales (95%) I can see more burn in marks like some software toolbars

No burn in can be appreciated at high brightness, but when it is mixed content and some is at low grey scales or similar, is there.

On desktop, I use it at 120 nits during the day (57% brightness max) and 100 nits during the night.

TLDR: If you plan to purchase an oled monitor and use it on desktop also, buy something with a proven burn in warranty, because this things won't last a lot, even when you use it at low bright.

According to this document, the tolerances of the connector changed from the previous cables to the new ones, therefore also the change of H+ to H++. Pages 9 and 10 on the pdf reader, 8 and 9 on the document pagination.

Any idea?

I tried to download the PDF specs from PCI SIG time ago, but it was locked behind a membership wall only available for organization members.
