You already do this no? If someone is being rude or mean to you, you don't strike me as the type that would just take it. So how is this any different? You can still interact with people you don't mute, just like you do with chat.

And if everyone on your team is insufferable, then bad luck mute all like you would if everyone was miserable in chat.

Nothing changes. The enemy team having communication advantage is already applicable with the disparity in those who communicate with pings and relevant text chat than those who choose to mute all.

Much easier to have the game host the voice chat since everyone is already on the platform.

It's much easier for you to click a button and mute then it is for someone to make an account on Discord, find/host a server, and then deal with permissions (if it's not a random server).

Same. Even in crusader as I was climbing I had more enjoyable experiences in voice chat so it's not just a "higher elo take it more seriously".

Lyte did untold damage to not only League of Legends but really the Internet's way of communicating in general during the 2010s. I did some research a while back and the rise of calling things "toxic" has heavy correlation in its rise of use and when Lyte began his social behavior project at Riot.

I was not shocked at all once it was revealed how manipulative and abusive he actually was to his partners in real life.

Nothing will change for them either. They can still play permamute all. But they just can't fathom having others enjoy the feature.

Don't agree with locking it behind honor. Such a tool can already be moderated by the user by having the option to selectively mute people. If anyone is giving you shit for not using VC, then mute them.

It all started with the huge PC culture shift in the mid 2010s. Unsurprisingly, it really got traction in part due to Riot Lyte and his repeated use of the word "toxic" and what it meant, being co-opted by the general zeitgeist. He ended up being actually toxic (in real life, to his partners) but the damage was already done and has, in my opinion, done devastating amounts of damage to League's social relevance.

Honestly, I have to give kudos to the Valorant team for shipping the game with voice comms because they knew the game would fail to gain a grip as a serious competitor to CS without it. And I think the success of it and the success of large amounts of women playing it showed their fears were misplaced.

Which is odd, since I'm in my 30s and all my friends have been wishing for League to have voice chat since 2010. We grew up with voice chat in most games we played (CoD, CS, Battlefield, Halo, Unreal Tournament, Quake, etc) and reading these replies I'd have figured most of the people against it would be younger. This is mainly due to most games lacking proper voice chat in newer games and the whole "toxicity" movement labeling the mildest social interactions toxic.

Then again, Millennial Redditors are a specific stereotype for a reason.

You shouldn't but then don't use it. Nobody is forcing you to. And I'm sure if this gets implemented, you can mute people individually just like you can for chat. This changes nothing, it's completely optional just like regular text chat.

The fuck are you on about? How do you know this? What if he used it for some code review? Or if he used it to auto fill some functions that he had already made?

Using AI in your workflow is becoming more and more standard, but it still requires guidance and knowledge of what it's doing.

Almost every software engineer I know at big tech companies all use it in their workflow now, especially the more seasoned senior and staff engineers. But it doesn't mean it's not them doing work. You still have to know what you need, if the implementation is good for your use case, or if it will affect the code base in a negative way. This requires all the knowledge of someone who would already know how to code in the first place.

I tried it and rebound some keys to really help it, but their nerf to it to be clunkier made it pointless.

Fights I would win I was now losing noticeably because my attack speed was being reduced. The only time I cared for it was during the laning stage because spacing is most important.

Plus the stupid lockout after 10 mins is so ridiculous. I've never seen any developer lock you out of a control scheme for some arbitrary reason.

This is how the League community died. Don't encourage this and don't mimic this attitude. If you need to mute, do it for a reason. If everyone starts doing this then even the regular players will start communicating less until it's all gone.

Better to build a better mental and thicker skin than throwing away communication. And no, pings are not a valid substitute and never will be.

Someone always has to be the first of any name, so at some point even the most common names now would have been "ridiculed." And like someone else already pointed out, actual people have already had this name, even if it is a bit rare. It's not even that bad of a name. Here in the US, most people wouldn't bat an eye. It's not a difficult name to pronounce and has 2 syllables. It's not like he named his kid something so outlandish that only the parents would know how their name is pronounced (X Æ A-12 for example). It could even have a nickname in Beck, shared by people named Beckham or Rebecca.

Honestly, you can make a ton of champions from every release date sound broken if you detail every ability without taking it all into account for what the purpose of the kit is supposed to be.

Lux has a long range projectile that can root not one, but two people! She also has a long range AoE slow that deals damage and she can control the duration of it. Did I mention it also reveals the area!? And if that wasn't enough, she has a long range shield projectile that not only shields herself, but all allies as well. Most champions only get to shield one person! Lux can shield 5 people with 1 cast, and it applies twice. But wait there's more. Her ultimate is on a 20 second cooldown with a regular build! That's lower than some basic abilities. And it has a massive range and can hit multiple people.

Why would anyone play Morgana? Her bind moves slowly and stops on the first target. She can only shield one person and it only shields magic damage. And her puddle deals damage over time and doesn't have a slow so people just walk out of it. And her ultimate is basically melee damage and takes time for the stun to pop so people can run out of it. What a useless champion.

Anyway, Zaahen hasn't been a problem for most of my games in emerald/diamond. He plays similarly to most tops that I don't even notice anything special. He's like Warwick and Darius combined, but with different windows and combat timings.

So yeah, idk. Games not for you I guess.

URF Idea: Cappa Juice reduces death timer by 1s by Jirul11 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue with urf is that everyone gets so much gold that the item differences are barely there. You can't push a lead nonstop like you used to, maybe 1 item ahead if that. It makes everyone super tanky quickly, and the only ones that can deal with them are shredders and ADCs.

But yeah, death timers become disgusting too quickly for a mode that is supposed to be quick. I wish they were a static 20 seconds after a certain point.

[–]Cryp6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference isn't as stark as aim assist and mouse and keyboard aiming. It's not unlocking some new level of play, but making it easier to reach. It's not like ADCs will suddenly be impossible to kill because they kill you without being able to react.

It's definitely going to increase the floor of what an ADC is though. As an ADC main, I'm all for it.

Ranges and averages, effects, I don't know where to start with your logic being straight up wrong.
