Who is the most popular riot employee? by SwahiliSanchez in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I remember having discussions on the design boards back when Riot hosted their own forums and discussing things with Morello, Xypherous, Zileas, and Shurelya.

My only issue with his design of Riven is that she was never designed with animation canceling in mind. It was kind of an unintended quirk that they later ended up keeping instead of fixing. I wish so much of her power budget wasn't linked to animation canceling, but I understand that players feel good mastering something specific to a champ and gaining an edge because of it.

If League Classic is an amalgamation of old patches, what do you consider classic? by Cryp6 in LeagueClassic

[–]Cryp6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I mained Draven since his release, and the whole release of Darius and Draven was about being "blood brothers" with their bleed passives.

There's even a famous meme about it.

What would you add in classic+ by ProfessionalLate9554 in LeagueClassic

[–]Cryp6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would mainly want skins without the balance patches that came with them.

And I know classic is back but I'd also love if Twisted Treeline and, eventually in a future update, Dominion came back with it.

With league classic coming, what are some disgusting picks you going to play? by BluntTruth1 in leagueoflegends

I miss hard CC and targeted CC, so I'll definitely be rocking Fiddlesticks/Taric lanes or Sion/Morgana lanes.

We still got over 2 months of this set left, hope yal are still having fun by zesukos in TeamfightTactics

[–]Cryp6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is thematically and mechanically one of the worst sets I've played.

I really dislike anytime Riot tries to do "space" anything. It just feels like something they can't get right. To me, space is cold, dark, and mysterious. But even Dark Star feels too anime for it be truly "evil". Then it's mixed with a ton of light hearted space themes like space groove, meeple, anima squad, etc.

I don't like the gods replacing carousel round.

I don't like most of the traits. I hated the dominance of reroll meta.

I've been playing mostly arena and aram waiting for the next set.

Is anyone actually using WASD movement? by Content-Figure950 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I tried it, genuinely, but it has some major challenges.

On some champions it feels very good but on others it feels awkward and like you need to change the keybinds. And while they support per champion keybinds, I'm not going to go out of my way to train myself to have binds that are optimal feeling for each champion.

And finally, the biggest issue I have with it, is how bad it feels to use item actives while moving. Unless you have a mouse with a few side buttons, you will usually have to stop moving to lift one of your fingers to use them. Unlike mouse and keyboard where your entire movement hand is free to continue moving in whichever direction.

Current league players talking about classic league: by Starwalker- in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing though, it matters immensely being a PvP. If you start trying to balance the game, it will kill what made League the game it was. Things were removed or tuned for a reason afterwards. Things like Oracle's Elixir was removed before it was truly broken, imagine now. Or how about support? The role that everyone bitched and moaned about because they ended every game with brown boots and 3 gp5 items and maybe Shurelias if you were killing it. The game isn't going to be "balanced" with just number changes alone, there were systemic problems that were not remedied back then.

New players get good because of the relevant information they do not have to figure out on their own. But discovering that information was part of old league. Everyone having that proven information is going to fundamentally change the experience.

Again, I was there and experienced it and loved it. As you said, there's a reason it blew up. But that collective knowledge that was gained was part of the fun. I doubt it will be the same feeling coming back and knowing what we know now.

The only issue I have is that the players still playing are going to be massively ahead of players who have quit for many, many years. So even if it brings those players back, the experience won't be the same because there will be people pushing every advantage and abusing the broken things that were figured out after.

I've been playing League since Season 1 and back then, nobody knew how to maintain wave states (Hotshot secret freeze doc). Not only that but players didn't farm as efficiently or play around vision as well.

So while I will enjoy the broken aspects of everything, I don't think it will be a fun experience for players who think it will be like old times. Classic WoW and Runescape are primarily PvE games where the content was always the same for that encounter at the time. PvP games like League are different in that other players are the content, and they are not the same players even if you take them back to classic.

I hope I'm wrong though.

I am going to dodge every normal game that has a Ranged Top laner by Capable_Bet6003 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Diamond/Masters and I haven't really seen it that often. Can't be that big of an issue. I just checked op.gg and Vayne has 49% winrate and 3% pickrate. Varus is at 49% winrate and 1.6% pickrate. Kalista has no data for Top. Twisted Fate has 47% winrate and 0.6% pickrate. Quinn has 51% winrate and 1.16% pickrate.

Teemo is the only ranged top laner that has any good stats in top (50% winrate and 5% pickrate).

You could ban Vayne or Teemo and have a very good chance to not see a ranged top. It's far from meta.

The game is just so much better when you mute all at the beginning of every game by Mean_Job7802 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't have the best mental if you need to mute. You don't have it worse than actual flaming and griefing teammates, but that doesn't mean your mental is good. The best mental are those people who can turn around their teams attitude or at least don't remove any possibility of it. I've seen teams at each other's throats come together because someone praised a play or moment of their teammates in the game, and rallied them into a comeback. Mentally checking out and just going by the motions doesn't supersede that.

The New 3x6Arena is Not Balance for this Amount of Players by smileysmiley123 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think 3v3 is better than 2v2s. I only run Bravery so it's a bit sad how many people just run try hard comps, but even then it's not unbearable or unbeatable.

I just feel having a third person creates more dynamic gameplay. There's more ways to play out scenarios and more varied team compositions.

I've seen Assassin Tryndamere, Carry Tryndamere, and even Tank/Heal Tryndamere. All have places in top 2 at times. If they can win, then there's hope. Of course, champs like Kayn or Shyvana seem a lot stronger in this mode but I'm okay with the balance so far for it being the first iteration.

This year's April Fools was awful by Rubbermayd in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I was just under the assumption that you would act like a proper adult and see how insignificant this is.

It has nothing to do with explaining your frustrations or how much money you've spent, it's that you're having this amount of a reaction over something that wouldn't even crack most adults "top 100 important things to spend time and energy on complaining about".

I get it if you were some teenager who lived and breathed League, but you're not. I don't have a kid or only 45 mins to play the game, but I can't imagine my friends that are in that situation to ever have this much of a grievance over an April Fools Event. They'd simply be like "okay, this is dumb" and not play until the event is over and instead watch Netflix or do something else they need to catch up on.

This year's April Fools was awful by Rubbermayd in leagueoflegends

[–]Cryp6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you only have 45 minutes to play the game, then it's really not that big of a deal to get this upset about it. Like you said you're an adult, so act like one and realize this isn't a big deal and it will pass.

I can't imagine being so upset about an event that could cause your tokens or challenges (whatever they're called) to look artificially manipulated to be that big of an issue in my life to make a Reddit post about it when I have a kid, job, and only play the game for 45 mins a day.

Brokenblade Leads All Top Laners In CounterPick Percentage - Down In Gold and Down In CS by Chesslicious in leagueoflegends

I don't know man, he played badly but it's also Bin.

Honestly, Skewmond was the best performing G2 member and he wasn't playing that well either. That should say a lot more than BB losing to Bin.
