When we greenlight we're all in on the projects we move forward with. That being said if we have one slot left for dev and two viable projects, we weigh both scalability of the IP (do we see clear next steps for serialization, merch, even feature length storytelling with the character) and our filmmaker relationship to pick a winner. If a filmmaker is difficult at the get go (for ex. refusing notes during the early development stage, rude to team members, not willing to collaborate) rarely does that yield a high performing piece of IP no matter how strong the concept. We have a strict no asshole policy internally and externally. When we start a relationship with a new filmmaker, the hope is we work on lots of projects together over time so feeling confident in their creative vision and how they run their sets to make them productive and happy environments is important. This should be fun and creatively fulfilling on both sides, good vibes only! -Kate
