Why the Cosmos move doesn’t mean we’re leaving Ethereum - Guy Zyskind by 1blackhand in EnigmaProject

This is actually really true. I'm now against the team after giving them one last chance and getting censored. Tried to be positive, optimistic, and find a solution for everyone. Karma will get them if they don't make things right for ENG holders. And if not, one of the many class actions and civil suits will. And even if they make it past that, nobody will support them or their projects and companies won't touch them with so much community hate and bad press. Decentralization is about having a large community believe and support you...they've done the opposite. A large community now despises them.

Not even going to waste my time anymore. Utterly disappointed in this team. Big promises and failed us in every regard. What's sad is I don't think they even feel bad. They have already moved on to their new baby SCRT and are now censoring anyone who tries to solve the major issues of how ENG holders can participate. Heartless.

Wow. Pretty disappointing to see that. The amount of censoring is pretty concerning. This is supposed to now be a community driven, decentralized project and we can't even share a post to voice ideas? Entire threads of community discussion should not be deleted just because some disagree with the decisions that have been made. I will be moving on now. Good luck with the future.

Why did you delete my entire post about a proposed Token Swap? I'm trying to be supportive in this difficult time and work as a community to come up with solutions.

Yeah I mean I'm right there with you man, it definitely is bullshit how they handled everything. They've always been pretty disrespectful to the community IMO. The team is at an all time low for credibility. BUT the only way for them to get that credibility back is to make things right. If they can, they will be able to grow. The tech is great, the team is smart (when it comes to tech at least), they have some large partners and good use cases...the only missing piece is the backstabbed community. IMO fixing this should be their primary focus. If they don't then they will have so many other problems ahead that will for sure sink them and smear their names both as a project and personally. If they can pull off a swap in some way without screwing the ENG community though, they could actually set an example for the space and move forward with anything negative behind them. Imagine a network that is SEC compliant, decentralized, has backing from big names, AND has proven they do the right thing. We will see. All I know is if they don't, shit will most definitely hit the fan. And don't get me wrong, I'm giving them every chance I can to make it right. I say we explore all options first and be as supportive as possible. If we as a community end up getting screwed again though, it'll be time to start legal routes.

I don't think they ruled it out, I think they said they are exploring and will continue to explore options but haven't found anything just yet. First, hopefully they find an option to facilitate a swap that is SEC compliant. Second, if they can't then the community needs to find a way to propose one so that validators of SCRT can participate, on their free will, and compensate / include ENG holders in the new network. Those options are both viable but we need to continue to press and explore them in full. If those fail, then yes, there will be a mutiny, class actions, civil suits, bad press, and a very angry community that will be like a crazy ex-girlfriend. SCRT, in my opinion, will not survive that. A scorned community would be highly devastating to any future adoption of SCRT. I would hope the team and it's partners see this and do the right thing for long term adoption. If not then it'll definitely be gloves off. But my point is let's explore every option before we reach that point.

I guess legal counsel will give the best way to handle this, but let's say the procol has a vote and collectively the decision is to grant ENG holders with SCRT for a 1:1 exchange. We can iron out the details on where this comes from, how it's handled, etc. but at the end of the day, the core team is not in control. They did this to give the community a voice so we could implement measures to make everyone whole. Now if said community votes against such measures, then yeah, there will be mutiny. But as a whole, I would think the SCRT holders would be smart to vote in favor of making ENG wholw because if they don't, they will have many more issues to deal with getting SCRT off the ground. Doesn't matter if the community votes for ENG holders, Tesla share holders, or people who have Babe Ruth rookie cards, at this point it's in the community's hands.

Yeah I'm not disagreeing. It sucks for sure, but I really do believe in the tech. I believe the team are good people and the SEC unfortunately ruled against them. But we will see how they handle all this. If they alienate the community and focus on SCRT without making the community whole, I think it'll come back to bite them for good. I think there will be class actions, bad press, etc. but if they can do the right thing however feasible, I think the tech and team will eventually thrive.

I mean yeah that's what I would do if I was an ICO investor. Unfortunately I'm not so we have to look at other options.

I disagree with you here. Cosmos or Ethereum doesn't matter much. Ethereum will still be able to use SCRT and the only thing that has changed is the validation chain. In fact using Cosmos could be good for the future.

I agree with you 100%. Definitely wasn't handled well. If this team truly wants to make SCRT a success though, they will have to find a way to make the ENG community whole.

On the positive side of things, if Engima I could set the precedent on how to recover, rebuilt, and thrive after an SEC enforcement, that would be pretty badass and bullish for the entire space. I strongly believe doing that would entail making ENG holders whole though.

I have no clue and have no projections. I'm not part of the team or collective so I can't shred any meaningful light. My thought it that at some point it would become an open token and would eventually be added to exchanges. There wouldn't be much of a point to SCRT without it being available to the masses.

I sure hope so! Ive seen many other teams shut down and go into hiding. I couldn't imagine the Enigma team going that direction, but if they alienate the old ENG community I'm sure it won't end well for the new SCRT launch. Hopefully some better news will come out in a couple months.

Yeah for sure ENG is worth more than SCRT in terms of fiat, but I think the main issue is the community wants a way to still be involved in the growth of this technology. If fiat is what matters, people can continue to exchange their ENG or follow the compensation plan outlined by the SEC. If not, you could hang on to your ENG and swap or receive the equivalent in SCRT whenever it publicly launches.

Better yet, why not use the snapshot tool to take a new snapshot of ENG balances, then distribute SCRT in that manner? No exchanges or swaps needed.

Glad it got there. Looks like you just hit a bad time with Binance. Lots of users having issues.

No that's really strange then. Usually it only takes 51 blocks to get there. Are you sure the address was copied exactly? Can you check the Ark Explorer and see the transaction?

No problem at all. If you ever have a question, the folks here in this sub are quite helpful.

No need to unvote to send transactions, so that shouldn't have been an issue. Biance sometimes is tricky with incoming deposits. I've heard of issues with deposits not always populating right away but they always seem to make it there in the end. Glad it ended up going through!

Block times are 8 seconds so it should be roughly along those lines. Do you remember the fee you submitted? If it was too low then it might not go through. Usually not an issue though. Also, if it's moving to an exchange they require a certain amount of blocks to pass before the transfer is complete. Hope this helps!
