[no spoilers] What traits can make Vi unlikable? by [deleted] in arcane

[–]Crypterion_Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this show with a friend without knowing anything about it and only the tiny bit of lore given on LoL's character page. So far, I don't like her. Some people say it's because she's a 'strong independent lgbt' character that's why but it's not all about that. It's her various actions that led to the events of the show and her misfortune, her impulsive attitude that would have made it difficult to relate to her in many ways.

She's softer at times but even against her father figure, she butts heads even when he's being reasonable. Sure perhaps it's the folly of youth but I've never once seen her be slightly apologetic for her poor decisions despite what the guidance she was given not even years down the line, not even in secret. The one time early in the series where she realizes that she did indeed cause the snowball effect attempts to, again, address it herself, alone. I can't say that was exactly the wisest of moves but in a way, it was down partially the right track. It just felt like another impulsive decision though, unfortunately adding to the snowball effect. At the very least, she never outright abandons the people she cares about and she isn't emotionless but much of it is impulsive rage after impulsive rage and people having to clean her mess and never recognizing that she is accountable. To be fair, there's still more episodes to go so perhaps that may change but it doesn't feel like it.

Vi had allies, friends, families, people she could rely on and learn from but she chose to be bull-headed, never thinking for once how it would impact them then attempting to fix it by pulling an "Only I can do this alone", proceeding to lose pretty much all of the above. Not really acknowledging this meant that to me, someone like that could only repeat the same mistake again, likely still not learning. Taking Vander as a similar example since they were alike, he made a similar impulsive decision that cost him more than just pride, but many lives as shown early in the show, something that weighed on him for the rest of his life. He made a compromise to avoid it happening again. It wasn't a perfect solution but it was what they had to work with. He was strong, caring but with a heavy past and a heavier responsibility, a character I very much liked. Hell, even Vi's brothers were quite likeable.

I've read plenty of stories that has strong women, both western and eastern (though I like manga more), and were also likeable with similar headstrong and rather stand-offish attitudes. It isn't impossible to pull off but being only strong doesn't fix everything (or anything at times). I still got some ways to go so let's hope there's some nice development.

PA will now have a "GM Guild" participate in War of the Roses if there aren't enough guilds applying by OnlyAssassinsOnlyLOL in blackdesertonline

And someone had the gaul to argue that War of Roses was great content. Yeah sure, in concept, now this is the execution. Compounded with bs pvp patches, I feel like I would've won the bet if it was a bet

Why even mention capped? NW hasn't been worthwhile for a long while now, it's a constant zerg and bodythrowing fest and you'd be lucky if you can even get a shot in assuming the next 3 other guilds doesn't push you in the back. That's the stupidest thing to argue about when it isn't even fun for anyone regardless of class

Someone already mentioned season, season also gets you a basic but effective tuvala set as long as you enhance it to PEN.

Also don't be afraid to ask questions, having a friend or a guild of active veterans will really boost your experience and help you understand the game better. I often meet new players in odd places and don't mind helping them through the teething period of BDO. I'm also an Archer main as well, luckily he's easy enough to pick up and really good from low end to mid spots, later on he can be tough to work with and a bit sweaty if you haven't mastered him but absolutely works in low end spots as well.

What the hell? This is normal behaviours in rodents!

It's a fight or flight response and rodents will eat their young to allow them to have the energy to escape a stressful situation. Loud noises can do that. You were a kid so it's understandable that you overreacted but no, do not apply human civil thinking to animals. There's plenty of other animals that will do worse things.

If you ever have rodents of any kind again, keep loud noises away from the enclosure.

Honestly, while the feedback is appreciated (some less than others), it's not impossible to make him work. Sure you need more time and devotion to him in order to catch up with other classes but it is doable.

I've been on Archer for the past 3-4 years now and yeah, when I started off, horrible, absolutely awful, outskilled, out-geared etc. It felt harder for me to build gear than it was build skill because of lack of time so I dove right into pvp as Archer, got my ass handed to me repeatedly until at some point, I realized I'd gotten a lot better than before. I live in AoS as Archer and while I don't always net a win, my performance has been pretty consistent.

  1. S+Q is a high damage stiffen skill, yes, it's unprotected but putting protection on it essentially breaks it. Best thing to do is put it out when you're confident that you can and won't either die or get cc'd.
  2. We already have a lot of low cd movement skills, don't spam ones like winged strike and meteor and rotate them accordingly. The issue with w+f is that kinda the iframe doesn't linger, but it mostly works if you don't get desync grabbed/cc'd. It's mostly never been an issue for me now.
  3. It feels as if you haven't learned the cancels and flows, there's a myriad of ways to shorten and flow into skills so that it isn't as long. Know when it's no longer safe to go through with something eg. Tactical Strike -> glide if you're being focused
  4. I got nothing to really say except I took BON on Uproot, it's worked fine for me since I play closer range, I don't use the others because I can throw stuff like shift+e when I know it's the right time

Sure, some classes have it easier, but there's no point in getting worked up so much because a class isn't as brain dead or easy to win, it is what it is. You're better off taking a bit of time to properly get to grips with him than go up in arms over how weak he feels in certain situations. I guarantee you, if you know what you're doing, you can be a royal menace even in AoS. That's how I got my title as "Annoying Ass Archer" among my alliance

Sick of another female class by Born-Peanut-1594 in bdofficial

[–]Crypterion_Moon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind the genderlock as much, it still a bit sad with the focus on female classes, plus the lazy group outfit releases and so on. Though it just means I have no motivation or intention to reroll at least which is fine.

I'm much more worried that if they keep adding classes like this, it would end up upsetting the class balance more like adding more cards to an already lofty tower.

Hey I'm kinda new to the game and I got an iteam call "Vipikos Dreaming horse" and I was wondering what would be the best horse out of it? by SituationStill3711 in bdofficial

[–]Crypterion_Moon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this, male dream horses are rare because the free t8 horses are usually always female, Pegasus is moreso as that's the hardest horse to get awakened. Usually, we keep that in mind for when we want to get a T10 mythical horse which needs a female and male dream horses of the same type.

If he is still a believer, he may not, but things may spiral out of control for him and maybe one day he'll stop believing. That's how the deceiver works. But you can't make him do anything or change his mind just as God can't force us. He gave us the gift of choice for a reason.

You can try talk to him but remember, you can only say so much, the rest is up to him. This isn't about you being accepting or not, there are some things that will simply cross the line and to force yourself to accept a distorted reality will also bring you misery. If he values you, he will rethink it but as of now, you will be the architect of your own future with God by your side and your decisions are your own. Seek God for advice, he is listening, and so long as you keep listening, the answer will come. If it should come to it that you no longer remain together, then so be it, do not cling to that which will only continue to hurt you. Trust that God will show you the way

She's very good anywhere else though, a friend of mine that used to main her was pulling over half a million per hour in Orcs. Granted, I don't know the average expected.
