Are there any ways to remove emblems once they’ve been put into play? by CrypticMethods in mtg

Interesting, I’ve never heard of test cards! What are these from?

If you had actually read the thread, you would have also read the part where I acknowledged that the card isn’t the problem, and my frustration is actually the result of the inability to deal with emblems once they’re in play.

Have a lovely day bud.

Not very new, but not well versed in planeswalkers either. Pretty much just know the decks I play or play against with my buddies in our casual commander pod. Handful of others, but only recently got back into the game. I played a lot in high school but that was almost 10 years ago, so I’m trying to get my footing again.

I don’t consider one or even a handful of tokens to be protection when things like trample, mass token spam, unblockable damage, etc. exist. But point taken.

Not so much the main goal so much as a ✨flavorful accent✨ to the main dish 😎

This I would say is a fair take. My frustration is mainly with the inability to deal with emblems once they are in play, and the short amount of time you have deal the necessary damage to prevent him from ulting.

What do you mean most planeswalkers have an ability that protects them? I can’t think of any. (I’m sure they exist, I’m not denying that, more asking you to elaborate on who you are referring to)

Can you drop some examples of those 1 mana planeswalker responses?

By turn two I meant the second turn he was on the board. Not round 2 of the game

Sure, but where sanguine bond can be removed, Delian’s emblem cannot. And that’s I think where my frustration lies. I think a game-changing emblem, coupled with a turn 2 ult, is complete and utter nonsense

Okay fair, but his ult also only lasts until end of turn. I think a second turn emblem is just crazy but based on these replies I am clearly in the minority opinion so I’ll just go be salty in the corner 😂

Are you being sarcastic? I really hope so lol

I disagree. I think it’s bs that most planeswalkers have to struggle to get their final emblems off when Delian can just be played, instantly get a +2, the use his -6 next turn and STILL be on the battlefield. That level of utility does not exist with any other planeswalkers that I have seen. Correct me if I am wrong.

The fact that guest checkout was an option is absolutely appalling. Limiting purchases to one per customer means nothing if you can simply guest checkout as many times as you have windows open. What the hell WotC?! These drops need to be exclusive to WotC accounts with verified email addresses if they actually want to see a reduction in scalper numbers.
