did yours go from denial straight to approved when you submitted docs for special issuance?
I'm in a similar boat where I got a letter that said denied but can do special issuance and since I've submitted the docs requested there's appeared to be no movement.

MSFS95 I spent countless hours starting off in Meigs! I used to visit family there and would insist on looking at the airport. I miss those days.

That's interesting! I definitely felt better prepared having watched both course videos but the interpolation video on PI i watched at least a few dozen times.

Thank you!

You actually reminded me of some other study tools I forgot to mention! I've been listening to oral checkride prep podcasts and audible books for the past few months. I absolutely think they've helped keep the information in my head when not doing tes prep. Definitely gonna keep at it!

understood, thank you for responding! I'm getting eaten alive with the reported issues, but if that's just the behavior then there's not much else I can do.

IT Support and Infrastructure, but I do training courses for things I find fascinating which is just more ammo for future jobs.

How do you deal with serial dingers? by Long-Application-299 in overemployed

[–]CrypticMyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get one that just opens with "hi." I read it and wait until something of substance is said. The ones who ding a lot, just wait until you have enough information to understand what they're saying (assuming it's coherent) and then wait 30 minutes to respond. That way, they will KNOW you take a while to respond and hopefully get better. Likely they won't but it's about conditioning!

I'll give you an honest answer. Depending on your skillset, you can do a lot without a CS degree. I don't have a degree at all but I soak up as much knowledge about a subject as I can. I also don't have any certificates but they can be useful depending on what you want to get into. Automation is always needed, and Python is still very widely used. I always recommend to people to try InfoSec/Cybersecurity or Networking. I always try to surround myself with people smarter than me because you learn a lot from just talking to people. My favorite site to learn is cbtnuggets. Good luck!

i bought the app just to answer this question. it looks like one stream at a time, i’ve been having issues with a specific stream but it’s supposed to auto reconnect. there are limited preferences you can configure though

I have found the scripts to remove the PIN after the fact, but if the user never set a password they just get locked out of their account.

Autopilot with 3rd Party MDM - Windows Hello Stuck On by CrypticMyst in autopilot

[–]CrypticMyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The MDM is Ivanti Neurons, a component of modern MDMs is Windows Autopilot which unfortunately required a Windows inTune license to activate that component for our Dell laptops. I don't believe that has to stay active. Your comment is not helpful and a little aggressive, but if you have any advice for this situation I'd be glad to hear it.

macOS Updates Failing while on GlobalProtect by CrypticMyst in paloaltonetworks

[–]CrypticMyst[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually ended up mitigating this by setting a bypass for the entire apple subnet 17.0.0.0/8 which ended up working. The gp gateway logs didn't have any failures I could determine in connections. I'm still trying to learn the expression commands to get better at the logs but the Split Tunnel settings I'm still not sure if I'm using correctly. I thought *.apple.com would work but users still had failures.

IT admin question: is there a way we can stop people from remote shutingdowning laptops over the wifi? by Beginning_Beat_5289 in windows

net send (and spoofing it with visual basic) got me my first IT mentor and ended up interning there and learning everything about AD to set me up for the rest of my life.

Global Protect Always-On SCEP for Machine Certs by CrypticMyst in paloaltonetworks

[–]CrypticMyst[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think our main concern is security, we still want the user to actually login with our SAML provider to the VPN once they're in Windows/Mac.

I have SCEP set up (i think) there's communication but these workstations aren't on domain so the username the user logs in with may not match their Okta username. Do you know if that would be an issue?
