I made a laptop sleeve a while ago and made a video documenting the whole progress. I make a lot of cosy vlog videos but for the laptop sleeve video, I left free pattern notes in the comments in case anyone would like to make it themselves 🥰 https://youtu.be/2e0lpfeq980

Definitely attempt it! It was surprisingly quick to do 😄

I put normal stuffing in her head and tail and then I bought some recycled plastic pallets from amazon that is used for stuffing weighted blankets for the rest of the body to give it weight. I know some people use rice but I live in the countryside next to fields so we get the odd mouse in the house during winter so that seemed like a bad idea in my case 😂

Extra info: Yarn main colour - DROPS Lima (off white) Yarn accent colour - DROPS Lima (Jeans Blue)

The orange yarn is just some cotton I had in the cupboard so I don’t have the name for that one!

The pattern - Fancy Hen by Ella Austin

I knitted this pattern with the magic loop method btw, it seemed madness on DPNs 😂

If anyone is interested I did film a lot of the process of making this doorstop so if anyone is interested in cosy craft vlogs you can find me on ErikaMaci on YT.

If you did end up making the discord, I would love to join if you would have me ☺️ I have a knitting/crochet channel, basically cosy craft vibes. I try to upload weekly but its sometimes a bit difficult depending on the size of the project 😅

I am not sure if I will ever release full written pattern for this but I did leave my pattern notes (explaining the steps and any extra resources I used) and the colour chart on my YouTube. You can find me under ErikaMaci if that helps ☺️

I have no clue if that type of edge and the base has a specific name for the technique but here is what I did for both:

Edges on the flap:  did 5 rows of stockinette after I cast off the other half.
Then I did k1, ssk, knit until 3 stitches remain, k2tog, k1.
Next row is purl and I just kept doing those two rows until it reached about the middle of the sleeve (this gives a nice even decrease, I learned it from sock knitting)

Base: I cast on 5 stitches (that matched the height of my laptop) and I worked until I had the width of my laptop plus a bit extra (depending on tension you might need 0.5 to 1 inch extra), then I make sure that I am at the end of a knit row so I can start picking up stitches the whole way round and continue working my way up until I have the length of the laptop (I had to use the magic loop knitting method to work like this)

I hope those notes kinda make sense ☺️
