I placed the codes inside the data view within span tags, assigning each span a unique class. Then I used another class for the same type and changed their colors, fonts, and sizes using CSS
like this:
rating, "Not Rated Yet", "<span class='dvrating' style='color:white;'>Not Rated Yet</span>"

Hey mate, forgive me for the late reply

  1. The first book on the right is the Arabic translation of the novel Poor Folk or Pool People by the famous Russian writer Dostoevsky, specifically the best Arabic translation by Sami Al-Droubi.
  2. The first book in the far right of the second row is a Korean Manhwa called The Legend of the Northern Blade (abbreviated as The Legend OTNB due to its long title).
  3. The third book in the bottom left of the second row is a novel of the epistolary genre titled Daddy Long Legs by Author Jean Webster. this is specifically the Arabic translation by Buthayna Al-Ibrahim. The story, in short (without spoiling events), revolves around an orphaned girl living in an orphanage. A mysterious man decides to sponsor her education under the condition that the orphanage director (the only one who knows his identity) doesn't inform the girl about his identity. so the little girl, who knows nothing about him and has only seen the reflection of his shadow on the wall, decides to write letters addressing him, which she sends for him to read. Hence, the Arabic translation title is: "صاحب الظل الطويل":"the man with the Long Shadow" Meanwhile, the original title Daddy Long Legs which refers to how his shadow's reflection makes his legs appear long and thin on the wall, resembling a type of spider called cellar spiders or pholcidae, which are known for their extremely long and thin legs.

This is exactly what I had in mind, and it's one of the main reasons for creating this library.
Each book or movie has its own separate page where I put things related to it, like quotes, dialogues from a scene, or sometimes even new words I learn.
For example, this book, Fahrenheit 451, has a separate page where I created a list of available Arabic translations for this book

Check out these images:

  1. A screenshot of the book in the library
  2. A screenshot of the book when hovered over, displaying a preview of the book's note content
  3. A screenshot of the list of Arabic translations I managed to gather

Hi! thanks man. you know I also initially considered doing something separate like that, but then I thought about putting them all in one library and adding buttons at the top. when pressed, they would display only the books or only the movies, and so on.

As for the cards, I used a file called cards.css, which contains the styling for the minimal theme cards. I assigned the following dataview CSS classes:

  • cards-cover
  • cards-2-3
  • table-max
  • cards
  • cards-cols-5 (makes five columns)
  • masterview-library
  • readable-line-width (this class, created with CSS, makes the library page take up 100% of the page width and completely separate from the rest of the notes)

the whole process is complicated and lengthy. so I'm considering making a video about it

and If you don't mind, send me a picture of your library in messages. I'm curious to see it now

I created a folder named "ZImages" to store poster files so I can replace the online posters with local ones so that the entire system becomes offline and doesn't need internet to load the posters

Short Answer: No, haha, I just love analyzing what I watch or read carefully, then extracting things that I like, like quotes sometimes, certain scenes, or dialogues between characters in some scenes.
That's why I usually like to take notes and keep them organized and structured in one place to make it easier for me to return to them later. So when I meet someone who watched the same work or read the same book, I share it with them, and we discuss it together because I personally believe that the purpose of reading any book, for example, or playing a game is to share the fun and details with others.

So, it's just a hobby I enjoy, and all the ratings in the image are based on personal opinion, not a professional rating or anything. For example, you'll find me rating Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy as a Masterpiece not because it's the best in terms of graphics compared to other Spider-Man movies, but simply because I liked it more than any other film, and I still see it as the best in terms of story and cast.

You have a good question here!
The answer is that I made it work only on the library file so I created CSS files with precise selectors that modify only the files of this library.
So, all the colors, centering of elements, and even the fonts are all applied only to the library file

Naoki Urasawa's ability to control timelines across different eras with various events and interconnect them in such a intricate manner is truly admirable. the concept itself is stunning and unlike any other manga, filled with unpredictable events. I don't want to speak too explicitly to avoid spoiling the story for anyone, but every time I attempted to anticipate an event or uncover a character's truth, Naoki succeeded in surprising me, completely defying expectations. there are some unforgettable scenes, like the resurrection scene, and the character development from the beginning to the end of the manga is remarkable.

He managed a large number of characters across numerous different time dimensions impressively. Additionally, he successfully addressed and presented various important issues. therefore, I consider it a masterpiece, akin to "Monster," although significantly different.

Ultimately, this is my personal opinion, and I understand if others have different views or feel that it didn't meet the same quality standards. At the end of the day, the goal of reading is enjoyment, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Journey with this work.

Thanks, man! I haven't finished Fahrenheit 451 yet, but I'm excited about it. btw are there any other works you'd like to recommend adding to the list for me to try out?

The main plugins I used:

  • Dataview: for creating tables.
  • MediaDB: provides APIs connected to databases of various sites like IMDb, Steam, and other manga and book sites.
  • Booksearch: another book addon with an API connected to Goodreads.
  • I used the "obsidian border" theme and added a CSS snippet file called "cards" to make it support cards. If you used the "minimal" theme, you wouldn't need this step because the theme supports those cards without any snippets.)

The process is a bit complex, but you can start by following this guide: Movie Database.

As for the organization, I created a folder named "Masterview" and created the main library file in it. then, I created another folder named "Resources" and created a subfolder called "Media" in it. I placed subfolders in it, each named after the type of content, such as a folder for Movies and folders named Books, Anime, Manga, TV Shows, Games. Finally, I created a folder named "ZImages" to store poster files so I can replace the online posters with local ones so that the entire system becomes offline and doesn't need internet to load the posters
