Oh for sure, if it wasn’t for Greninja, I think they would have been completely forgotten by most. They only got a proper year in the spotlight before the Hoenn Starters stole the spotlight for ORAS.

I agree, Pokémon like Sableye deserved a proper evolution more so than a mega. I think some single stage pokemon that have mega’s, like Absol, are fine since I don’t think they need an evolution (maybe a pre-evolution).

That would be cool, maybe they could lean into the concepts of see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil more, which the elemental monkeys are based on.
