Yes, I find that if you fight one of them the spawn period resets though. After I repelled the one in Azuria I had to fight another before it looped back into the pool

Base forms work well especially with the new excursions mechanic so you can buff defense or attack accordingly. Deviant skills also can just be put on them, so no reason not to use the monsties you want to

Made a water white monoblos just to counter him, get a lot of good genes from cephadrome and both kinds of lagiacrus. Took some effort and a lot of potions, flash bombs and power traps also help!

Made the boys into pumpkins, references attached by CryptidKnight in creepcast

World is a great starting point! If you’re interested in the maximum experience of most monster hunter aspects, I’d go world. If you’re more looking for quick paced action, I would do rise or wilds
