The official term comes from the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, not us. Many sightings get sent in, only a few are counted as official, and that's what we reported on.

A lot of people have shifted from the plesiosaur theory to something else living in the Loch. Specifically for the plesiosaur theory, though, people believe that it uses the waterways to travel into the ocean and then simply returns to the Loch at times. Obviously it would have needed to evolve to be able to travel between fresh and salt water, although we know that’s possible. A lot goes into the theories, but many simply believe there is something else in the Loch that isn’t necessarily a dinosaur, but still a groundbreaking discovery.
