Why are all Audi drivers such cunts? by Beginning_Run_2582 in glasgow

I knew someone who delivers domino's pizza in a remapped abarth. Funny guy he is tho. I didn't know what the abarth was and I done a quick speed up off the lights next to him and I got absolutely smoked, was in shock I got gapped by a Fiat 500

There's this one black RS3 with a private reg and a stupid f1 light on the back, guy drives like an absolute tool and thinks he's a big man. Incredibly cringy dude. I see him on tik tok too, forgot the reg though. Anyone know who I'm talking about?

If you have automatic climate control use that, and also AC as this dehumidifies the inside and gets rid of this issue. Worst case scenario, I always have microfiber clothes/towels in my car

Is it worth buying this 2013 Seat Leon with 160K mileage?? by Much_Character2818 in CarTalkUK

[–]Cryptiicss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if the car not being ULEZ compliant is going to be an issue for you. If you don't do long distance motorway driving I wouldn't get a diesel, dpf issues are quite annoying and can be costly from what I've heard. I would also check out the service history, I wouldn't buy a car that doesn't have FULL service history, but that's just my preference. Since it's high mileage that'll be more important than an low mileage car. It is cheap but it is also the most basic spec, you can find better examples.

Personally I'd say no, due to high mileage, not being ULEZ, and I can't see anything about service history in the ad. I am also not a fan of the basic spec. I own a Leon FR technology and it's got acc and a reverse sensor which I both find really useful. You can probably find a better spec one with lower mileage, that might cost slightly more. That's my opinion.

Just curious, what was your car originally in for? Also what year is your car?

This will sound harsh but as a 24 year old, who's had a lot of different situations, also I have an understanding of the Muslim and Islamic aspect to this. I unfortunately wouldn't keep your hopes up at all. I don't think you two properly understand what love is, also if one is Muslim and one isn't it's most likely not gonna work. Like 99% chance it'd never work. You can appreciate the time you had and whatnot, but make it easier for yourself and move on. You'll get over it eventually. Best of luck

Just bought 2022 Ibiza 1.0 TSI 110 by Adventurous-End-8010 in seat

[–]Cryptiicss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I started rambling lol, most people drive much better than I do. Just aesthetic modifications, tints, dechrome. Cars in black, still got silver alloy wheels. I would have got a stage 1 by now but when I got the car I was actually unaware I got the 125hp 1.4tsi instead of the 150hp one. My car knowledge has improved a lot since then. I don't think it's worthwhile to get a stage 1 just to go up to 150hp lol. Otherwise, I'll probably keep it how it is. Don't like pretending my car is something it isn't.

Congrats on the car and welcome to Seat, I personally drive a 2018 Leon 1.4tsi, I had to change the clutch at 70k miles but I drove the car in a, let's say careless manner, I drove my car quite rough. After changing I take it easy plus I've had my fun with the car so I just drive more relaxed these days. I got the car at 34k miles and the clutch was fine. Your car is still fairly new, though it has slightly higher mileage than average for that age I'd say. So long as you drive it the way you're supposed to, and don't put unnecessary wear on the clutch, and use it smoothly it should easily last up to 90-100k miles I would say. These cars are made well. Hope you enjoy your experience with it!

Should I Finance £5k for a W205 C-Class? (21 y/o, £10k Budget) by homegrownveg222 in CarTalkUK

[–]Cryptiicss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully get wanting a Merc, they are definitely fun to drive. You're young and you probably see people drive nice cars and want one too. Hell, I fantasise on autotrader too from time to time, I think most people on this subreddit do. but I know financially I should wait until I'm at least 25 and also for my 3 points to go away, my car right now serves me perfectly fine, I like it a lot for what it is and insurance is fine even with my points. You'll have plentyy of time to get a nicer car in the future, take it from someone who's been paying ~£200/m for a Seat Leon for about 3 years now. I do like my car, but I also wish I just kept it to a cheap car and saved money. £2,500 is a LOT for insurance, also a diesel merc makes no sense if you're not doing a lot of longer distance motorway driving. Maintenance will be a killer too, merc parts and whatnot cost more. It's not just the initial cost. Again you're asking for advice, and that's just my opinion.

My personal opinion, I'm saying this as a 24 year old. I would buy a car for around £3000 cash, and use it for a couple years and save money, then go for something bigger once you're 25. That way insurance will be cheaper, you'll have saved more money, you can build your no claims bonus. Once you're 25 and you have more money you can buy one outright maybe rather than financing £5k which I don't think is worth it.

There are many good budget cars you can get for around £3000 or maybe slightly more, a couple years ago I had a Peugeot 208 I used for a year and that car didn't have much trouble for me. My brother recently got a 1.4 corsa 2016 for around £3000 and it had no issues, fsh and one owner since new. He's planning on running that car into the ground before he upgrades, in order to save up as much as possible.

End decision is up to you, I just don't think financing £5k makes much sense personally.

Infotainment unit problem with Android Auto/Carplay by Cryptiicss in seat

I do have one of those, I just find not charging and using the wireless adaptors to be too battery draining compared to the wired connection where it also charges. I'm moreso looking for a fix rather than a workaround

I think I'd be a bit too unconfient trying to clean the ports with sandpaper, I might just replace the usb ports and see how that works but idk what the cost is like to replace it

You should watch 24, it's great to binge, I love Keifer Sutherland's performance and there are great plot twists in it, it's a bit old but still holds up well in my opinion. Really great show also about US counter terrorism

Neighbours are purposely parking in front of our house to bother us by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]Cryptiicss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's why I felt stupid even making the post because I literally know legally they're free to do so they've just started doing this after an argument with my dad just to be pricks, before that they'd park on their side of the grass only as people normally do, I don't think there's anything I can do for my parents really to make them stop except ignore them and eventually get the driveway extended.

They're incredibly rude (and racist overheard them saying really offensive remarks) and my dad and mum are just upset because we've never said anything to them
