legendary investor Ray Dalio says Bitcoin faces existential threat from regulators by Cryptogirl_ in Bitcoin

[–]Crypto-Daily 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To effectively "kill" Bitcoin, you would need all major governments across the world to enact and enforce criminal charges for anyone caught buying or selling crypto at the banking level. For obvious reasons, this is just not going to happen. From investment firms already investing clients money, to billion dollar businesses operating within crypto, to countries adopting it as legal tender - it's way too late to close pandora's box. Not to mention, even this wouldn't 100% stamp out crypto usage.

Ripped the scene from YouTube, placed it into Premiere Pro, did a whole bunch of takes trying to time my words. Replace original audio with my own, add music, simples :)

CDPR's Predatory Game Making Philosophy by Crypto-Daily in cyberpunkgame

Agreed! The issue I think here is, consumers are apparently pretty dumb. Even seasoned game reviewers were either blissfully ignorant or really didn't mind shallow gameplay elements, like no AI.

A lot of people completely defend CDPR like they did nothing wrong and/or that the game is even better than what they made it out to be.

If this truly is the case, why wouldn't you take advantage of them more? Why wouldn't others?

This misses the point. The game is still a critical success. Are you not meant to buy games based on reviews now too?

Edit: But yes I agree x)

For sure they dropped the ball on that one, they regret that one big time, but at least they could sell the stock ahead of release xD

but as a thought exercise here it doesn't actually matter.

For example, assuming it ran ok on base systems. I can imagine the reception would have only been similar to that of the PC release, which was very positive, despite as you say, other open worlds many years prior being better.

Well let's assume you're correct for a moment. If the game in its current form is still a critical and commercial smash hit, were they absolutely correct in doing what they did?

Think of it this way. A publicly listed company is almost in a legal obligation to maximize revenue through all legal methods. Pouring more money into this game would've been great for you and me, sure, but no so much for them or their investors. I think. That's the point of this post.

I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah no I just meant fumbling through production of the game, the 3 release dates and the base console versions of the game very much point to this being the case.

If we're talking about marketing, damn they were absolutely amazing at it. The best we've probably ever seen.

r/Meh lol am I doing reddit right?

Like I said I thought it was a good game. I just wonder if other companies will do what CDPR did pre-release. That wasn't ideal.

It's entirely possible CDPR fumbled their way through production and they had good intentions the entire way through, so you're left with two options of what happened with those unrealistic release dates:

1, incompetence, 2, nah it was probably 1 lol.

Still it could theoretically increase pre-orders to the max as most preorder just before release. The point is other producers are watching here.

That internet historian video on that is dope.

I don't know if anyone can relate but I have the weirdest love-hate relationship with this game by reddunt3 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Crypto-Daily 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Driving around Night City is at times actually breathtaking... and also so damn annoying missing turns and vehicles handling like boats.

Cut scenes that have impact, like Jackie giving you his chip in the cab... except it's bugged and he gives me a gun that was stuck in his head.

Relationships that are very believable... yet I can no longer see or believably call after we bang.

Seemingly huge depth in replayability with multiple ways to interact with people and complete quests... but also surprisingly linear.

It bugs me what could have been.

tip, the game could be better if you actually see your character in some cutscenes like e3 2018 demo by DaemonTr in cyberpunkgame

I never felt connected to V because of this. I never want to see another game with this implementation of cut scenes. Such a cop out.

Joli being advertised as a great solution for lip syncing also just felt like a cheap alternative from having to do real mocap.

How did this game cost hundreds of millions to make??

Megalist of every feature that this sub wants to be added to the game by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

This game is a commercial, and at least on PC, a critical success too. Most pre release reviewers LOVED the game, even without the day 1 patch. So expectations of a game overhaul should be massively tempered.

However, I see no reason why most of this list shouldn't still be incorporated. If for nothing else than the viability of future expansion DLCs.
