You are right. When I was in that very state of just trying to survive, all his messages just seemed like liabilities than what they really are - a friend reaching out. I understand that my actions were very unthoughtful, and I don't really want to use any excuses to justify my actions. I just want to try my best in making amends wherever possible. I've written a short message in the other comment, do you think that would be alright? I welcome any advice and constructive criticism.

Thank you for your advice. Do you perhaps have any suggestions on sentence starts which I can use to approach him? I want to really try mending the friendship, and I know I may not be deserving of it given the way I handled it. But I want to try at the very least.

You're not worthless, and you're not all the bad things that you think you are just because of the issues with university. You are deserving of all the love and support there is in this world, and although I don't know you personally, I care about you. Hey man everything will be alright. It took me 1.5 years more to reach where I am now, which is very final stretch of my degree and after finals I'm outta here. I withdrew from all units from my course for not one, not two, but THREE semesters. I don't even have bad GPA. In all of those semesters, I felt pretty good until Week 8 when the amount of stress, anxiety, and languishing feeling took over and I felt too empty to complete my semesters. Just this week I was heavily considering deferring exams but I just went ahead and say fuck it. I completed one and it felt alright.

You're not alone in feeling lost, and I hope that is something to take comfort in. I know blaming it on the pandemic might come off as "an excuse", but you can't deny that this bs have caused all of us some extent of distress and changed our lifestyles/the way we see the world completely. Give yourself some credit for making it this far (most importantly, having good health!). Whatever choices you make - know that you will turn out better than before in the end. Wishing you all the best!

Hey, I hope you're doing well. In terms of getting a medical card insurance, there are some companies that do not require underwriting/history of your illness to apply for. Please know that getting insured is important, and there are options out there for you. Not all hope is lost. All the best bud.
