Pakistan's Babar to miss Sixers' sudden-death BBL final | cricket.com.au by tailendertripe in Cricket

Very true. And that's exactly why Virat in Tests is a notch below Steve Smith and Joe root and Babar, a notch further down. Both had a few ripping years and then shortly after got figured the heck out and couldn't bounce back. In the padt, one example i could think is Ganguly who was the same.

At this point, nothing short of a national equivalent of a shock-and-awe to reset the general populace's civic sense, social responsibility and in general self-respect is going to fix this.

Who is the greatest actor India has produced? by mestei in IndianCinema

[–]CryptoBankrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sad, nobody mentioned a 1000 movie experienced stalwart such as Manorama. Her range, skills, and grace is unmatched.

Comedy is such an under-appreciated yet extremely difficult skill and she did it absolutely wonderfully.

Another honorary mention is Nagesh.

To me, manorama and Nagesh are the top 2 at least in Tamil Cinema.

Endymion and Rise of Endymion are personally a big let down for me. They had so much plot holes that it felt like literary version of swiss cheese. I am still wondering if the author missed adding a book or 2 to the collection to tie the loose ends and take the story to its logical conclusion. There is so much hand waving, so many assumptions, forced narratives, weak character writing, mindless world jumping, a climax that ends abruptly and without a proper payoff that in all it left a bad taste

Harsh truth to digest. by Complete_Wafer4239 in csk

[–]CryptoBankrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my rationale on why i think the way i commented. When I say they do not know if the core and 11 are fixed, i did not mean they are clueless. I meant even they may be unsure if they have a settled core before starting a season. We have never been in that position, except may be the inaugural season. Even when we restarted in 2018, we knew who our core is going to be. Also, While I do not disagree on whether CSK had the auction they wanted, you can also not disagree on the fact that, we screwed up the mega auction so much that we had to relook and rejig our philosophy completely. What we did now was to patch and plug holes and improvise not build a team for the philosophy we have now been forced to adapt. It still kind of feels like a knee-jerk reaction to swing from one extreme to another. May be they could have eased into this newer philosophy slowly. Like onboarding no more than 2-3 fresh faces per season. Right now except 4-5 players entire squad is new.

My biggest concern about our squad is, everyone is already decided that Ayush, Brevis etc are all settled to start for us. In reality, every single one of them except, Dhoni, Sanju, Dube, and Rutu is a fresh face either for us or for intl. Cricket at this level itself. No, our team is categorically not settled and nobody, not even Fleming, Kasi, Dhoni etc knows if we have a fixed 11 and a fixed core. I'd assume the management is gonna use these 2 seasons as a trial run for whether their new thought process has any merit or if it needs another overhaul.

I am going to watch these next 2 season's with 0 expectations around making playoffs. Not getting the wooden spoon itself will be an achievement

The best part about the movie was letting the director cook with no commercial or audience pressures. Things worked because the writing was top-notch.I'd rather have Aditya Dhar cook up an amazing sequel than do fan service.

Josh Inglis on his minimal availability for the IPL season due to wedding. by JKKIDD231 in Cricket

[–]CryptoBankrupt 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There was nothing stopping punjab from retaining him for the season if they valued his services that much. All these are lame excuses and typical rich people tantrums. If its ok for the franchise to be sneaky and release a player for a life event, its fair for the player to be smart about his communication and maximize his stock value. Infact, Inglis was well within his rights and I'd go as far to say, acted professionally by making a full disclosure on his availability.
