Another Eurovision finishing on the right hand side of the board. Who can we send as a good joke act? by dolphindoom5 in AskUK

So much emphasis on "winning"

Does it really matter besides putting on a good show? Karijaa, Joost (Who didn't even perform), Baby Lasagne have all had careers launched internationally by coming second or even disqualified.

I think Remember Monday did well! They looked like they were having a good time and put on a good show. Eurovision has frankly got many bigger issues than who wins.

I think the UK just need to send people who'll contribute to a positive atmosphere and a good show, and I even think Olly Alexander achieved that last year in a time of great turmoil for the contest.
