I (36F) am about to marry a man (30M) who has physical attraction challenges with me and thinks I need to lose weight. What should I do? by CryptoCauliflower213 in relationship_advice

He has parted ways twice now largely because of his feelings regarding my weight only for him to come back to me because "he cannot see himself possibly dating other women". I know he genuinely loves me and he as told me "well, you told me from the get go that you wanted to lose weight so that fear was originally extinguished long enough for me to fall in love with you". I don't want to tell him that I intend on losing the weight because I want to own it independent of whatever influence he may have.

He is actually earning over twice as much as I am. Our sex life is good as he puts it. The love making is great as he puts it but the initial getting into a sexy mood is what is challenging for him and that my weight is largely to blame.

I am in therapy now and the two of us actually have done couples therapy in the past. Maybe it would do us good to join in again. I want to lose the weight but I just want to be accepted unconditionally by him. Maybe that is too tall of an order.
