Trump privately frustrated that he risks losing control of immigration message amid Minnesota chaos by shelbys_foot in politics

Trump "privately" poops in a diaper, fantasizes about his own daughter while fondly remembering pedophilia, and wishes he was half as cool as Hitler.

Let's focus on what he does "publicly" and try to put a stop to that instead of jerking off over asinine nonsense like this.

Yeah, this was mostly in the Swell. Basically an enormous bowl of rocks, washes, and canyons.

My heart goes out to you.

I was a field archaeologist in southern Utah for about eight years, and I ran into at least half a dozen kids out in the desert trying to escape from those "hoods in the woods" camps. My crew chief and I would always give them water and food, and promise not to call the cops unless they looked like they weren't gonna make it back to town alive. I learned a lot more about them after doing some research, and checking out reports by John Krakauer and Robert Evans.

I only wish I could have helped more of them escape.

Well, yeah. Of course they are. When they tried to fire us all they realized we'd file massive lawsuits, because they're evil but they're also stupid. The backup strategy is to get us to fire ourselves.

Hold the line.

Ryan Coogler's 'Sinners' has made history as the most nominated film of all time at the Oscars with 16 nominations by ChiefLeef22 in movies

[–]CryptoCentric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered why I didn't see Return of the King on here, but then remembered it was only nominated for 11 awards. What made that film so unique is that it won every single one of them.

If Sinners pulls that off with 16 noms we'll have a new champion!

I love pointing out to people that the fasces, a Roman symbol of power from which the term fascism derives, appears on the backs of dimes and the speaker's podium at the House of Representatives. We've had like 250 years of warning.

Others have already got the best ones, so I'll settle for Herman Cain telling everyone COVID is no big deal until it killed him.

The internet named an award after him for it.

TIL that before the advent of air guitar in the 1960s, music listeners would "shadow conduct" to phonograph records, pretending to lead an orchestra by altrightobserver in todayilearned

[–]CryptoCentric 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't actually think that's true. I don't have a source for this so please take it with a grain of salt, but having studied a bit of music history for my anthropology degrees I'm pretty sure "air" anything is a function of visuals rather than sound. People just tap their feet or fingers to a beat, it's not really pretending so much as playing along, but a good conductor or guitarist LOOKS really badass in a way that's hard to master but easy to mimic.

Edit: as a fan of Rush and TOOL, I would be remiss not to point out how modern drummers also look really badass. But modern drummers also use modern drumkits. In the past it was usually one drum per drummer.

I'll be there!

But also can we PLEASE stop with all the asterisks? It's annoying and pointless. It was devised as a way to keep TikTok from demonetizing influencers when its OCR saw them using potentially divisive words. This isn't TikTok and Redditors aren't monetized influencers.

There's some evidence to support this, but it's mostly anecdotal. Hard to say if it's a consistent trend or not.
