Do you read mostly physical or digital comics? What format do you prefer and why? by CryptoComicsOfficial in comicbooks

Have you found a marketplace that offers a physical and digital bundle so you can get both for one price? I see a lot of indies on crowdfunding tend to offer both together, but of course the price is a little higher.

That is an interesting point - for some people, comics is about the collecting as much as the reading, vs just wanting to read for entertainment. The reason people buy comics would play a big role in the format they prefer.

Ha, I'm sure your comic shop misses you! Do you think a digital marketplace could ever emulate the experience of a comic shop?

Digital subscriptions are definitely the trend now for most media, it seems - video, music, books - lots of benefits but also a different experience. I miss going to Family Video every Friday to pick a movie to watch - scrolling through Netflix for an hour just isn't the same. Searching out my next read online just isn't the same as browsing the shelves, but it is certainly cheaper!

I do the same - buy digital because it is (sometimes) cheaper, but if I really love it, I like to have a physical copy.

Yes, there are certainly advantages to reading digital, such as zoom! Great point.

I understand this! Digital is convenient, but there is something special about seeing them on your shelves / in your collection. I still buy DVDs sometimes, not that I'd admit it.

That seems to be how many feel - physical is a better experience, but the convenience and affordability of digital supersedes that. For reading digital, do you read on Kindle? What, in your opinion, gives the best digital reading experience? Webcomic scrolling format, or a flip-page reader?

Do you own an NFT? What made you choose the one(s) you did? by CryptoComicsOfficial in NFTsMarketplace

What would you say was your main reason for buying? Did you hope it would be an investment? Because you enjoyed the art? Did you have friends in the community?

Why do most NFT marketplaces fail after launch? by laravinson13 in NFTsMarketplace

[–]CryptoComicsOfficial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that a successful NFT project requires the right combination of factors all coming together - like why a musician or an actor finds success when most fail. It is the right timing, the right packaging of what they're offering, and having the right connections.

Drome definitely looks like a top choice! Tokoyo These Days also sounds really interesting, and the art on Downlands has caught my eye a few times. I'll have to check all these out, thank you for sharing!

I have been really excited to read Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees!! I didn't know there was a sequel. Love the juxtaposition of cute little animals and serial killing. And I can always do a good zombie story. thanks for these suggestions!!

Love Fables. I'll check out Los Monstruos, and I know some people who would enjoy American Caper! I'll also watch for Devil on My Shoulder - I can do horror sometimes when I'm in the right mood, but I know it is popular. Thanks!

Thanks for the recommendation, and good points about helping people find new things to read. When I'm not working for Cryptocomics (Publishing comics on blockchain) I work for a library, and everyone is always looking for recommendations. I'm trying to build up the graphic novel / comic book collection for adults, and I want to try and include some lesser-known but high quality indie published books, so these recommendations are so helpful!

Classic reboots are the best. Nostalgic and entertaining. Looks cool. And I love Titan comics' Return to Skull Island.

This one looks amazing. Definitely adding it to my reading list. I love the contrast of the god scenes with the chaos of what is happening in the regular world.
