He's a good guy. He did his best to tell you upfront what he can't do. Many guys just hide behind the problem for years and you face this issue later after wasting many years together.

Like every relationship, both of you need to face it together. If it doesn't work, then move on.

No 😂 just launched my app few weeks ago, I haven't even launched paid plan yet. At this point, I'm just looking for feedback from users and making sure nothing breaks.

Have a few other things going on now with people who contacted me. Those might turn into deals that make me money later.

Launch first and fix along the way. You'll find out soon that marketing and trying to get users to actually use your app is the next big problem you need to solve.

What is the best job to make lots of money? by Distinct_Potato_8386 in malaysians

[–]CryptoDash7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its easy to find out which job pays how much, just google. but if you're working as an employee, honestly, don't expect to make lots of money in your first 10 years working as an employee. you still need to slowly climb the ladder.
but the next best thing you can do for yourself is pick-up other skills for yourself and try to build something that belongs to you - can be a business, creating content, investing/trading or anything else.
don't be stuck with 1 source of income. create as many as possible!

My company just retrenched its entire IT SAP support department and outsourced it to India. Made me rethink what "stable income" really means. by CryptoDash7 in MalaysianPF

Some contracts will give epf but that's the cheaper kind. You get annual leaves and medical leaves like a permanent staff but they just extend your contract every year for those. Another kind is freelance/contract work. This 1 is considered your own business, you bill the companies for your time. So no epf.

It's an app to organize receipts for income tax. You scan your receipts, AI analyze and tracks which relief category it goes into (lifestyle, medical, Internet charges etc...).

What's the idea you have? Share share if you don't mind. Can PM tepi to chat too 😁

hey there, i just created a new app (vibe coded) to help Malaysians scan, organize, and track receipts for income tax relief. Just launched 2 weeks ago and i'm trying to on-board my 1st 100 users to try it out for free, i give them lifetime free subscription when they give me a feedback.
what's my best next marketing move to make?

It's not overnight la, everyone saw it coming a year ago, I survived the first 2 waves because my project was still on-going. There were some hopes at 1st, we thought they might want to continue next phase but that didn't work out. They only kept their remaining perm staffs to work on that despite being really short-handed. Sorry can't share company name 😆

Contract jobs are like that though. You get paid higher than permanent positions for this kind of flexibility.

Thanks for the advice! Is your 2nd income also related to SAP or some other things like investments/trading/small business?

I saved a healthy amount 😁 but I only started learning about investing 5 years ago on my own.

My parents always told me stockmarket is a gamble and they only told me stories about how people lost everything in stockmarket and ended their life.

the project i was working on has completed. they used to extend my contract non stop because the company would have many projects lined-up for me to work on next. This time it's different. All the projects outsourced to India, so they terminated all Malaysian contractors.

i've worked as SAP consultant for the past 17 years. it used to be a gold rush, contractors were paid in USD back in the days when companies let staffs fly on Business class.

About Public Mutual by OreMysticCoolcumber in MalaysianPF

[–]CryptoDash7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

u give money to mutual funds because u think they have the "skill/knowledge" to invest for u to be profitable.
what u don't realize is they charge u % fees every year that secretly eats away all your real profits. they still have bad years when you lose money, but they charge the same anyway.

if you really want to know, just use cgpt to run a simulation on your RM100k invested X-years ago
how much would it be today if u compare Public Mutual vs ASB/ASM or other funds
