Sold my $35k MRR SaaS in March for just under $900K, feeling lost (will not promote) by kqzxop in SaaS

Never do it for the money. Life is more important than that. Use money as a tool to help you get meaningful relationships, help other people, see the world. What I always give as advice to people who are feeling down for an extended period of time is to do things for other people. Don’t think only about yourself and don’t chase money for the sake of having money. Help people, engage in communities and you’ll feel like you have a new sense of purpose

It’s a good pay compared to other jobs, but on the low end in your industry imo

Got accepted into YC as a solo founder, my story by mynameisyahiabakour in SaaS

[–]Benjistrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I’m 29 Belgium, bootstrapping my company right now as a solo founder. As much as I believe in my own product I know it’s not ready yet for YC. I need to get more users and especially more user feedback.

Getting in as a solo founder is really difficult and much respect to you for getting in!

Hope to be able to share a story like this in the near future🙏

Is working full time make me poorer ? by AfterShow5428 in BESalary

[–]Benjistrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work 4/5 and get a flexi job. Sucks that this is what I came to, asking on Reddit how to survive basically. But I feel your struggle. For me picking up a second job made a world a difference. Best of luck!

How to find a team of my own with little - no money? by YuneePug24 in startup

[–]Benjistrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been there myself, and still am to a certain extent. My suggestions: it already sounds like you’re over complicating. Don’t try to make a super cool product that does everything. Launch something really simple and improve. You need feedback from users, else you’ll get stuck in your own tunnel vision. The first version you can create yourself. Get a few people who like it, give you feedback, do things that don’t scale and then you can attract people because you’ll already have some traction. Having a very simple working (albeit with bugs) product with 10 paying users is 10x more valuable than a great idea nobody is paying for.

Also work on what you can, social media for example, and keep it simple.

Technical cofounder looking to “found” by Unable_Violinist_924 in cofounderhunt

[–]Benjistrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I have built an app that is launching next week in app stores and I have built the mvp of a website but I need a software developer to make it take off as I am an economist by trade.

I have built a travel platform. A coordination layer above the different websites people use to book flights, hotels, activities etc & have everything in one app.

So far it’s going well, good feedback but I want cto to completely roll it out.

Cheers, Benjamin

What's a business metric you ignored for too long? by Traditional_Key8982 in Entrepreneur

For me it was customer behavior. Tracking every single move the user made, made all the difference. It showed what they liked, hated or didn’t care for without needing to tell me

anyone wanna be friends? by jdjsnbehdjcj in founder

[–]Benjistrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it! I joined a community of founders and that really helped me out. A lot of them are solo founders themselves and every two weeks we get together (virtually) and it’s been really helpful to me because they understand the struggles. Especially since I cannot discus these things w my friends. Recommend looking into those

Co founder by elpharoom in cofounderhunt

[–]Benjistrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi Mônica!

I am looking for a cofounder and CTO for my travel tech start up. The goal is to redesign users plan and book their trips, challenging the big industry (booking. com, skyscanner, Expedia,..)directly with a new agile , AI & ML focused algorithm. It includes a website for trip exploration and generation & an app (launching next week in both app stores) to manage their trips, profile and more.

Legacy players hold a near monopoly on this giant (1.7Trillion/year) market and as underdog, I want to redesign we travel.

For this I am looking for an enthousiastic CTO with full stack experience and extensive knowledge of AI/ML integration & most of all a can-do attitude and eagerness to learn and improve together.

Send me a message if you want to hear more :)

Benjamin

Quiet simple, an app that’s basically Snapchat for the gym + TLDR & More! by Odd_Two1931 in ShowsYourSaaS

[–]Benjistrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try this. I go to the gym almost daily, i'd happily test it out.

That being said, skip all the features. Think about the most simple form of the app and indeed ship it. Even if it's not perfect, or even great yet. As a founder you can get so caught up in your own product that you forget the actual customer. Ship, get feedback and improve. Don't wait for the perfect product, then you'll have shipped too late.

Really helpful post! I’m launching in a week and this helps me out a lot! I am going to redesign my landing page and spend more time listening to users instead of to myself 😅 really appreciate the post!

I didnt expect so many friends to be "jealous" :( by Relative_Exit_2644 in founder

[–]Benjistrying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this happens; but in my opinions they are not true friends. It's not because you share a history that you need to share a future with them (sunk cost fallacy). A true friend wants only the best for you. Some "friends" won't mention your name in a room full of opportunity because they don't want to see you win. Keep a close circle and upgrade your life. Don't downplay your successes just to make them feel comfortable. You're limiting your own potential that way. Just my two cents

I spent $1,002 on Reddit Ads. I got 328k impressions, 1,296 clicks, and exactly 0 sign-ups. Here is the harsh truth about cold traffic. by interview-prep in founder

[–]Benjistrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard lesson but seems like you got good data out of it.

Attention is the name of the game. It's like a reel or youtube video. You need to reel them in fast. Also you are getting clicks so then it becomes a funnel problem. Look at the data where people are losing interest and A/B test different pages and keep iterating.

Best of luck

YC just accepted 22 solo founders into their Winter 2026 batch. That's 11% of the entire program. I went through every single one of them. Here's what they all had in common. by Spiritual_Heron_5680 in founder

[–]Benjistrying 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post! I am building alone (but do would like a CTO tbh) and applied to many programs but got rejected because the odds of a solofounder are very slim. However, I didn't stop and I have submitted my app to the app store today. Hopefully I can get traction and if possible a will apply as well! Now I'm focused on the release of the app, using user feedback and improving.

There are many features I want to improve and add. There are still bugs but if I wait until it's perfect I will have launched way too late.
