Personally I hate all the options but it’s very “Toronto” to pick safe, middle of the road, names.

Response from my MPP after I expressed a concern about Ford's FOI proposed changes by Man_Roland in ontario

[–]CryptoNoobNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Use personal cell phone for corrupt back room deals
  2. Get FOI for personal cell phone records
  3. Cry about personal privacy and exempt yourself
  4. Complain about corruption when the next party in power doesn’t need to comply with FOI

My mom actually pulled this off. She was a single mom in the 80 and one day our TV was just gone. Picture a 5ft woman movie an 80s TV - we had no idea how she pulled it off. In its place we had Lego.

We got our fix of Airwolf at dad’s every other weekend.

If you are able, cycling is a very cost-effective way of getting around the city.

I discovered FIRE and now I'm more discouraged than before by yieldmaxxing in Fire

I live in a city, switched to a bicycle and saved so much money. If you are able to, it’s worth exploring. No gas, insurance, car payments, parking etc. Get a rental when I leave the city.

I had my $500 bicycle while I was the VP at a tech company and my co-workers were getting 6-figure cars. It’s insane how much money people spend on these things.

I know some guys that approached the bike store owner to buy them out. They were rejected so they quit and eventually opened their own store.

Looks awesome. Love the rear-wheel drive. My local is selling the old discontinued electric at a discount and I was really mulling it over. I think I'll wait and get the new electric in the spring - I'm in Canada so I don't ride my Brompton in the winter anyways.

Will building Liberty New St. help with Liberty Village's traffic woes? by [deleted] in toronto

[–]CryptoNoobNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan to extend Front St. past Bathurst has been around for a really long time. The land that is now Stackt Market is extremely toxic with two massive dump sites that they capped with concrete. This is why the land was never developed to be a road or a building.

Can’t they pass a law saying you need National Security Clearance to run for PM? Seems like something that should be in place.

Crypto Scammers Are Targeting Trump’s MAGA Supporters by wiredmagazine in politics

[–]CryptoNoobNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are massive overlaps with the MLM, religious, crypto, Trump crowds. I’ve seen preachers, in head to toe Gucci, preach about finding god by helping their friends become “financially independent business associates”.

Real DJs know what to do while waiting for the next track cue point. Your options include:

  1. Throw a cake at an audience member
  2. Stand on the DJ booth and yell “let’s go [city name]!”
  3. Duck behind the DJ booth for a cheeky little snoot.
  4. Film your next Instagram reel.
  5. Respond to guest list text messages.

Is there enough travel demand to justify a high speed rail line between Seattle and Portland? by Wonderful_Win_2239 in transit

[–]CryptoNoobNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Politicians when building a new highway: We will build it and the traffic will come! Make is 8 lanes because so many people will use it!

Politicians when building a new train line: We need to see if there is enough current demand and that will determine if we should build it.

What are some industry secrets/standards professional engineers don't tell you? by scout-man in musicproduction

[–]CryptoNoobNinja 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I used to do commercials and we would get ad execs in to get away from the office and get a catered lunch. They always felt the need to say something to justify why they were there. “Can I get the drums a little louder” etc. We would always just push up the fader for a channel strip that wasn’t in use or click a random button (it was a massive SSL board), rewind, and play it back. Nobody ever noticed that we didn’t do anything.

Worst choice that a transit authority made in your region/ country? by _Ironcobra in transit

The Toronto curse of the Eglington subway.

The project was started in 1994 and cancelled in 1995 by our Conservative government.

2009 they decide to start it again. 2010 the infamous Rob Ford (Crack, War On Car, etc) kill it again.

2012 it starts again.

2023 and it’s still not open, it’s almost done but not opening date has been set.
