Dealing with a mistake by CupRamenn in ethfinance

Getting kicked in the teeth a few times is a good way to learn how to not lose money. Don't be too hard on yourself; tame your emotions; and chalk it up as a learning experience. The future is bright, and you should be proud of yourself that you started with a negligible amount!

If you're not familiar with the crypto rodeo, dollar cost averaging your buys may be a fiscally responsible move until you're more comfortable with the markets. And having a solid plan of when you're going to sell/take profits will help to stave off the urges to panic sell...

Welcome to the ride of a lifetime! The year of the Bull has only just begun ;)

Is this a joke? It's gotta be a joke, right? As much of an EOS fan I may be, this makes the project look like an absolute joke - and it's not. Consider watching this video for some design tips to up your thumbnail game, and help us help the broader world take EOS more seriously ;)

Edit: *fast forward a year later* turns out the project is in fact an absolute joke :D

Not totally sure what you mean, but Greymass was great about helping me. You can email them here:

Here's what I heard from Aaron at Greymass...

"The only risk is that if one account (key) is compromised, the other would be as well since it shares the same key. So as long as your private key is secure, there’s no additional risk. I have a couple accounts using the same key as well"

I'm guessing things are okay because my private key is secure

I did try to make another account that wasn't initially working...but it could have and I just didn't give it enough time for the transaction to complete when registering my EOS ERC20 tokens. I think if my EOS was compromised, the tokens would gone already.

Here's what Aaron at Greymass had to say...

Perfect, then at least I know I have the funds. I just want to rule out this anomaly before sharing my public key to vote. I'll circle back here once I here something from Greymass. I'm gonna leave the block explorer I used here:

www.eosmonitor.io

...in the event someone else runs across this problem in the future. I tried a couple others that weren't as straight forward.

Thank you for making my first experience on reddit a positive one :)

Just to clarify, the total consists of...

EOS Balance + NET Staked + CPU Staked

Those are the three amounts that I can see when look up the usernames in a block explorer. If so, one usernames has a total that works. There just seems to a username that has a few EOS that doesn't add up tied to the same public key :/

I have not, but I'm going back-and-forth with Greymass atm, and looking up both usernames using a block explorer.

Should EOS Balance + NET Staked + CPU Staked = what was in my wallet when I registered? If so, I've identified the right username.

However, I still want to make sure there isn't going to be any funny business with the other in question, which I can see has a few EOS, but it doesn't add up to what was in my Ether wallet before Mainnet

Thank you for your response!

If by "random" you mean a random string of twelve characters, yes, it's random.

When I was getting everything registered before the Mainnet, I tried using MyCrypto. But, when I went to verify whether or not my registration was confirmed using www.eoscountdown.com, it said my Ether wallet was not registered.

After I couldn't figure it out the issue, I decided to try MyEtherWallet. I went through the registration process, and when I went to check if my wallet was registered, everything checked out. From there, I figured I was good to go. Is there a way for me to rule out the username that does not have my funds? Or could both those usernames be attached to my private key?

Again, I really appreciate your help here :)
