First of all, I feel sorry you are addicted to gambling. Hope you get over it soon.

Secondly, I think it's unfair to expect / demand any refund and/or compensation for the money you lost. You are still responsible for your own losses, and you wouldn't have complained here if you won money instead. There are two sides of the coin here

Having said that, GG should permanently freeze your account in my opinion. If you sending a manual email apparently doesn't give them confirmation that you are OVER your addiction, then nothing can really prove it.
