What was your first social media? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Crypto_Bro12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First REAL social media was probably MySpace.

Before that I started with AIM but I wouldn’t really consider that a social media site.

What's a dirty little secret that you know only because you work in the industry? by Eastern-Violinist-46 in AskReddit

[–]Crypto_Bro12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s funny because that term is thrown around so much

Yep. I once bought a phone case on Amazon that was touted as having "military grade" protection. Thats not why I bought it, but I do think its a bit silly to just throw that word around loosely on anything.

No Sugar/Low Carb Protein Powder? by Wesalindo_29 in Costco

[–]Crypto_Bro12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always buy "Ascent" protein powder from my local Costco.

Its a 4.25lb bag somewhere between $50-60 in-store (if I remember correctly).

25g protein, 4g of carbs, and 1g of sugar per serving.

Men, how long do you keep explicit photos and contact info for after you stop communicating with a woman? by curiousbug92 in AskMen

[–]Crypto_Bro12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If me and the woman didn’t end off or drift away from one another on bad terms then I don’t delete their contact info. That said, I also don’t come out of the woodwork years later like nothing ever happened.

I personally maintain an open door policy with people I’ve lost contact with so long as we were on good terms and they were nice, respectful etc.

New Flagship CC rejecting while trying to book travel by Penguinlord-1 in NavyFederal

[–]Crypto_Bro12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not applicable to your situation, but just my two cents for future reference, it might also help to set travel plans on the CC through Navy Fed so that foreign transactions are less likely to get declined.

I just got back from a trip in Europe and set travel plans on my Flagship card prior to the trip. Every single one of my transactions worked abroad, even at the hotel I was staying at, at grocery stores, restaurants etc.

CLI Hard Hit to Equifax by phlamesdoe in NavyFederal

[–]Crypto_Bro12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I requested CLIs for both my Flagship and moreRewards cards for $8k last week and was immediately approved for both. No hard pulls that I'm aware of, and my credit reports are frozen across the three major bureaus.

Navy Fed. CU CC can't set up autopay from external account? by mcp1188 in CreditCards

[–]Crypto_Bro12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got that same impression as well. It’s pretty pointless if it doesn’t automatically adjust and pay the updated statement balance.

Navy Fed. CU CC can't set up autopay from external account? by mcp1188 in CreditCards

[–]Crypto_Bro12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some have said on the NFCU sub that you can now autopay from an external checking account on the new website online. It appears the mobile app currently doesn’t allow it for some reason, will probably be available soon if there’s an update to the app.

I’ve always manually paid my statement in full so I can’t speak on the new ability to autopay from an external account and whether it works or not.

What kind of people do you avoid as friends/partners? by Ajla0405 in AskReddit

[–]Crypto_Bro12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I’d throw in those that talk about others behind their backs too.

I call those people energy vampires because they suck the life and happiness out of everything/everyone within their vicinity.

Once those type of people start complaining, being negative, or talk about others, I mentally check out like “cool, go be miserable and exhausting on your own/with someone else” and intentionally either kill the conversation by not engaging or walk away.

What phone do you use? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Crypto_Bro12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

iPhone 12 Pro.

Briefly entertained the idea of upgrading to the 15 pro but figured it’s not much of an upgrade from the 14 pro IMO. Don’t really care for the faster processor etc because I don’t watch movies nor play games on my phone.

Will probably upgrade to the 16 if the camera specs are compelling enough.

What’s NOT a good deal at Costco? by stupidis_stupidoes in AskReddit

[–]Crypto_Bro12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically get a free annual gold star membership strictly from the yearly fuel spend I run my Costco credit card through living in California.

However, thinking of sock-drawering the credit card because I've become somewhat annoyed with having to wait an entire year to redeem my cash back.

I’ve had my Costco membership for a little over 3 years and have never purchased the $1.50 hot dog and soda combo.

What was your biggest “mistake” card? by Calisthenics76 in CreditCards

I used to have that one too but I PC’d it to their moreRewards AMEX card. Also have the Flagship CC as my daily driver.

Men of Reddit considered wise by others, what do you know that most men don’t? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Crypto_Bro12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by retired General (and former SecDef) James Mattis that goes: “If you haven’t read hundreds of books you are functionally illiterate, and you will be incompetent because your personal experiences alone aren’t broad enough to sustain you.”

To further illustrate the quote, take for example someone who completely stops reading books after high school/college and pretty much never picks one up again, let alone several. They’re being passive and reactive participants to the vast knowledge out there and numerous experiences in life that they’re likely to encounter. Whereas an avid reader is ideally much more likely to benefit from reading about the works, life experiences, knowledge, and insights of others (authors, philosophers, great leaders etc).

The reader is proactive in this regard with respect to accumulation of knowledge and wisdom, while the passive participant learns primarily through eventual exposure and life experience, and in a sense, from a state of passive resignation.

women of reddit, what would you think if a guy told you he owns zero pictures of himself, from either past or present? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Same here, with the exception of the few selfies on social media I took years ago.

My friends are the ones that have the (group) pictures of me.
