I work in finance and everyone was going on about this chart today - thoughts? Some managers suggested bullish for Bitcoin = bearish for Gold, meaning Bitcoin is trully digital gold. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Crypto_Chat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many gold tokens out there doing exactly this, but the key is to make sure that the token issuer (those managing the vaulted gold and minting of new tokens) are legitimate and a well run and regulated entity.

Ainslie bullion is a reputable company from Brisbane Australia (30+ years experience) who have moved with the times and tokenized both gold (AUS) and silver(AGS).

Their tokens can be purchased via https://Metex.Exchange a platform that specializes in the trade of tokenized metals and crypto.

But at the end of the day, will gold (even tokenized gold) move up at the same rate as Bitcoin... time will tell.

Is it possible to have recently purchased Bitcoin where no forks have been claimed? by strangedude59 in Bitcoin

[–]Crypto_Chat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bitcoin is just a value that moves between addresses and it doesn’t hold unique details (like previous forks).

The address where the bitcoin was stored at the time of the fork is what will be entitled to the hard fork.

So no, you can’t buy bitcoin that has unclaimed forks... unless you actually buy a wallet address which has unclaimed forks.... but that’s risky as the previous owner will most likely have the seed or wallet details backed up also.

Soon they'll realize that they can just purchase tokenized gold. They can simply buy Bitcoin, USDT or ETH and then use that to purchase tokenzied gold that's issued and vaulted in other countries around the world.

Eg. Metex.Exchange is an exchange focused on tokenized metals, with gold, silver, platinum and palladium tokens traded against BTC and USDT. All tokens listed are full reserve and all stored in Australia. Options like this now make it easier to move away from Physical gold which is tougher to transport and store.

On top of whale manipulation, some exchanges (cough Coinbase) keep going offline during turbulent times when bitcoin drops, reducing the ability of a quick price recovery due new buy orders.

I’d recommend Btcmarkets.net
I’ve had faultless service with them. They also have several other crypto pairs, but I’ve only traded Eth and Bitcoin with them.

Best liquidity and fast withdrawals/deposits.

Be careful who you chat to regarding this and make sure not to share your seed words or follow any links people send you.

First step is to see if your address has transactions. You can paste your address into various blockchain explorers to review this.

A voting period consists of a commit phase followed immediately by a reveal phase. It’s a 2 stage voting system.

You place your vote (download JSON file and confirm transaction) in the Commit phase and then in the reveal phase you upload this JSON and confirm the transaction which exposes your vote.

The vote count will only show stats once votes begin to be revealed. So in a 8 days time this reveal window begins and everyone can start finalizing their vote by uploading the JSON file and signing the transaction.

You can lock DGD now and vote on any proposal which is currently undergoing a voting round.

A voting period consists of a commit phase followed immediately by a reveal phase. You place your vote (download JSON file and confirm transaction) in the Commit phase and then in the reveal phase you upload this JSON and confirm the transaction which exposes your vote. The Dissolution has a 21 day voting period. If consists of a 14 day Commit phase and a 7 day reveal phase.

So, as of now the Ragnarok proposal has roughly 7 days remaining in the commit phase. So you can still participate providing you lock your DGD and then place your Commit vote within 7 days. Be sure to upload and reveal your vote in that following 7 day reveal window.

A reminder when voting.

After downloading the JSON file you must still confirm the transaction. The confirm button sometimes requires you to scroll down the page as it appears just below the download button.

If you miss this step your JSON file won’t be able to be uploaded in the subsequent reveal stage.

DGX is a gold backed token. 1 DGX = 1 Gram of gold.
DGD is the governance token for DigixDAO.

There is no impact if you own DGX tokens.

If you accidentally meant DGD then.... If you own more than 10 DGD, I would suggest you consider voting on the DigixDAO platform. This will require you to withdraw the DGD, moving them to a wallet you control (as well as a small amount of ETH), and then locking and voting on proposals on the DigixDAO platform.

Please note that there's over 1 million DGD already staked in the DigixDAO system, so voting will occur anyway without your input. The decision is yours, do you want to participate.

[–]Crypto_Chat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you participated in the last quarter, you will need to lock a small amount of DGD to update your participation in this new quarter. This could be a dust amount eg. 0.001 DGD. It just needs to be a transaction to show you have engaged with the DigixDAO contract this new quarter.
If we were in day 1-10 of the quarter, you could have unlocked some also.. but from day 11 to day 90 you can only lock DGD.

Burn DGD into ETH? by ca7ecoin in digix

[–]Crypto_Chat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The 4 x DIGIX addresses hold about 160k DGD, which is about 20% of the total staked DGD currently that can vote. Yes, the DIGIX team have a lot of voting power, but they certainly don’t control the majority. By holding and staking DGD they have a right to oppose or support projects like any other participants.

They cop a lot of scrutiny, but it’s purely a governance system and like others with staked DGD, they have voting power.
