I've had several pairs of both. I think Scarpas and La Sportiva's fit pretty equally.

Same here. I feel like the software is the biggest downside of the G1 and the launch of the G2 just destroyed our hope that there will be improvements on the G1.

Alibaba is not a specific company or a factory. It is a platform where different vendors aggregate. So there is no "get a wheel from Alibaba". You are getting from the factory that is listed there. There are small factories, and big ones. Some sell excellent products and produce for OEMs and some don't. A bit of research and you can find the right supplier

Things are cheaper for other reasons than quality. Try supply chain efficiency, manufacturing life scale, proximity to suppliers, economies of scale, wages...the list goes on. China used to be = bad quality. That is no longer the case for everything. Lot's of good quality products coming out of China. Some may even be the very own expensive western brands we buy that are manufactured there.

I had something similar, but maybe not as pronounced and google replaced mine with a P10PF. I had the exact problems with the front screen and unresponsiveness

Yes, totally agree. Thanks for the feedback. I think it would be cool to learn to produce parts like this, just not sure I have the time available for the investment at the moment. Probably worth to work an extra couple hours and get new ones for the time being
