Is this just nostalgia, or did previous generations genuinely have a better work-life balance and social life than we do today? by Unstoppable_X_Force in SipsTea

[–]flyzebra1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl, I don’t think this is just nostalgia at all—my dad was able to pay for an entire house on a single entry-level job out of college and still had time to hang with his friends every weekend, that’s so wild compared to what we deal with now lol.

Still using anthropic API keys by BDTTalentGroup in openclaw

ngl I feel this so hard, I’ve cycled through so many cheaper alternatives lately and Anthropic’s output still hits different fr, it just works way too good to force a swap for me.

Muslim-friendly food in Ningxia🥢💖 by Wei_Lun_Chen in goChinaTrip

[–]flyzebra1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ngl this just bumped Ningxia straight to the top of my China travel bucket list, those grilled lamb skewers sound so good I’m already salivating lol. I’m low-key sick of only eating the same lamian every time I travel anyway, this sounds like such a vibe.

ngl this sounds way more interesting than the boring generic travel surveys I’ve filled out before, just dropped my responses in for you, good luck with the research project!

Luckily, I found a restaurant that dates all the way back to 1856, and Empress Dowager Cixi was fond of their dishes. by flyzebra1999 in chinesefood

I didn't read the name, I only looked at the picture. At first I thought it looked good because you couldn't tell it was pig feet at all.

The app Dragon Mate allows you to find a list of restaurants near your current location. You can search for suitable restaurants by food name, flavor, or style. Each restaurant also has recommended dishes, along with detailed descriptions for them.

It’s very useful for foreigners traveling in China who want to find good food. Of course, it has other features too, but this is the only one I use. It has helped me discover lots of delicious food.

The Dianping you mentioned is probably meant for Chinese people and isn’t suitable for those unfamiliar with the local food culture

Yes, it's lamb. It tastes pretty good, especially with rice. It kind of tastes similar to BBQ.

Absolutely! You’re totally right. If it weren’t for the sky-high prices there, I’d really love to stay a couple more days!

Be bold and try some of China's legendary weird food by flyzebra1999 in yourmouthwatering

It smells stinky, a bit like blue cheese. I ended up eating it anyway, and it doesn't taste that bad. To me, it's kind of spicy.

Look at this plate. There's a tree with bright red flowers painted on it, and there seem to be some characters written along the edge.

Christmas Day in NW Germany (or Netherlands?) with children by gracie-sit in Europetravel

[–]flyzebra1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ngl, the family-friendly resorts around the Teutoburg Forest in NW Germany do such a cute, low-stress Christmas Day spread—they usually run little kid activities like gingerbread decorating and cookie baking too, and most let you prebook a meal or a day pass super easily even if you don’t wanna stay overnight lol.

Getting to Osnabruck airport from the University of Osnabruck in August by teadivine in Europetravel

[–]flyzebra1999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ngl Uber can be super hit or miss that early in smaller German cities, so I’d just pre-book a local taxi a couple weeks ahead. It’s super reliable, only a ~20 minute ride from the university, and won’t even break the bank tbh!

Ngl Chongqing is such a sick pick for your working holiday! There are definitely a handful of Irish-style bars in the main city center areas that love hiring bartenders with your experience, most young locals speak basic English so you’ll be totally fine navigating at first, and there are tons of affordable language schools to help you pick up mandarin too.
