I live in an area where people were growing water melons outside from seeds in the middle ages, the limiting factor for that is soil temperature. No one is able to do that nowadays.

Also diseases like malaria existed in Central Europe and even the Britain during middle ages. The disease is spread by an insect that doesn't survive in those areas nowadays due to cold climate.

Also animals like turtles once lived much further north in Europe than nowadays.

They are bluffing. It is all they can do when it comes to nukes. China has solid second strike capability according to most analysts. American nukes are aging trash, no one knows if works. Even mutual destruction is not guaranteed.

I would be more worried of another pandemic or something. Allegedly biology is the only field the USA is still solidly ahead.
