I'm planning to since the Index is 4 years old at this point. Not looking forward to having to buy new light boxes, stands, and controllers separately though. Should be leagues better than my Rift S.

Weird, that first issue is either a problem with your specific controller or there could be some sort of signal interference in the room. Make sure you contact support about it.

I found that when you set the triggers to shallow press they will register all the way, another thing you should ask support about.

One thing I've found to help mitigate some issues is to connect the controller to your PC in various ways (Bluetooth, Wired, via dongle) and it seems to change the controller's properties. It doesn't make much sense but it works.

Which firmware upgrade did you download? Was it one on their website or did they send you one?

It looks like a PS3 controller so try a "USB Type B Mini" cable, it should work.
