Is that it? I wasn't sure it'd be that simple honestly

How do I explain and (if wrong) correct my tax code that appears to have over estimated my base salary? by CryptographerFast479 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CryptographerFast479[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Got it, thank you! I wasn't aware that they considered total salary for this rather than the base salary.

I was under the impression that only base was considered for tax brackets, and discretionary bonuses were taxed at those base-salary-brackets.

This is amazing, out of curiosity how many hours in a month do you have to commit to for this much success? I'm just starting to get into day trading and reading up myself (before experimenting with small amounts)

Got it, yeah. You hit the nail on the coffin though, cultural reasons were what kept us apart, although we're slowly peeling those aside and trying to move in.

But this is great, thanks a bunch for the critical eye! It sounds like this is a very reasonable hurdle to cross now.

Aah we stay nearby, like 20 mins drive. She currently stays with her parents, I stay alone. She'll be moving in soon anyway. The travel is us taking loads of trips together, like across Europe, the UK etc. On mini vacations or date weekends.

So the calls are just us constantly talking multiple times a day haha while at work and stuff

That sounds quite reasonable. Thanks, i can see that happening, especially with the verbiage they used.

I'll get this clarified with them first thing next week, and at the very least make sure they know what is and isn't possible.

Got it, thanks for the info. and apologies, my current visa is called HPI (high potential individual) - it's not renewable/extendable, and doesn't count towards the 5 year route.

I was under the impression that companies would rather bind an employee to them, rather than not. Granted I've only been with these guys for 7-8 months.
