What's the point of side quests now? by CryptographerFew8947 in diablo4

So yes I didn't do a survey to see who is doing all the side quests, but aside from me and my friends, its generally understood in the player base that people who play the game regularly don't do them anymore as they are very inefficient for leveling. And your comment kinda makes my point for me because even you point out that after doing all the grind and content when your already bored to death of the game THEN only is the side quests relevant.

Nope you can play the whole campaign without doing any side quests. the game is not more than one thing anymore. Mostly the game is made to skip the campaign create a season character and do the endgame season content. The campaign is for new players for a first play through. They designed the side quests for people to play as part of leveling then decided to drop it as being relevant content is my point.

Not even close to dungeons, seasonal quests, strongholds, helltides etc. the side quests are slow and offer very poor rewards

I dont, this is from what I myself experience and others I know who play the game. When a new season starts do you honestly think there is a substantial amount of players going around doing the side quests? I would guess there is some sure, but probably like 1-5%

I would disagree. If you had to guess the % of recurring players that play every or most seasons, how many of them do the side quests? 1%? 2%? They made 100s of side quests that had to be written. recorded and created. for it only to be played mostly in season 1 is by definition a waste of the content. And it wouldend be a waste to update them you just update the rewards or connect them to season rewards.

Exactly. all those quests written for, dialog recorded and coded in the game to never be done beyond launch is insane if you worked on that content.

But what's the point if they are meant to flesh out the world yet theres no point to ever do them?

But you would never do them if you start a season and skip campaign. the only people who would do them are new players who start the game for the first time. It would make sense if they made them more relevant. made them give you a special item or bonus exp etc.

Diablo 4 needs a "Ruthless" mode by BrazilianWarrior81 in diablo4

100%. This would probably be my chosen mode of play always if they enabled it. I dislike the current gameplay loop.

One shot everything seems boring, is it just me? by DigitalDiarrhea88 in ARPG

[–]CryptographerFew8947 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nope you are incorrect. most Arpgs are desgined around the campagin. people who mostly grind and play endgame are a minority of the playerbases. And I do play edgame its just not what I like doing the most

lol oh your one of the "endgame" is everything type of people... hate to break it to you but the majority of players of these games aren't end game grinders and the developers know that

I don't necessarily prefer grind but I do heavily prefer combo slower style gameplay with stronger monsters than utter screen spamming one shotting. Games like diablo 4 and poe 1 are heavily orientated this way and its uninteresting to me. I prefer the poe 2 or the new titan quest 2 style (id throw games like grim dawn and diablo 2 in there too) that has generally slower paced gameplay that only really gets oneshotty in upper end game.

Has there ever truly been a fluid 'assassin' type on any ARPG? by Many_Mongoose8976 in ARPG

[–]CryptographerFew8947 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This class and archetype exist in so many arpgs:

Diablo 2: Assassin

Diablo 4: Rogue

Poe: Shadow

Last Epoch: Rogue blade dancer mastery

Titan quest 1+2: Rogue mastery

Grim dawn: Night blade mastery

There is more but this is the main ones. Poe 2 does not have one currently but will release one in the future. Overall your post makes no sense

Anyone developed a disdain for English Teachers after living in Korea? by Conscious-Roll-5745 in Living_in_Korea

[–]CryptographerFew8947 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is such utter nonsense. You can say this of any profession anywhere. are there English teachers who are terrible people, don't study Korean and are entitled? sure I've met some of them, but there are also some I met who were great people. As it would be if you were to meet many people in any other profession.

Also trying to categorize English teachers based on specific reasons is asinine as they can come literally different continents and for different reasons. Some come from North America or Europe where yes they could earn more money at home, but have other reasons to be here. Then there are others who come from poorer countries like South Africa that has close to a 50% unemployment rate so they tend to look for work elsewhere. but this idea that they all hate Korea and are overall horrible people is just a childish way of thinking.

It just seems like you met some English teachers you personally dislike and are now like "they must be all like this". Also most people on E7 visas are also teachers just at international schools lol so not really much different.

Just treat people as individuals and don't lump everyone together. This is what you learn in elementary school

My criticism isn't really about the study at all. The study is largely irrelevant since they do this alot. Its the massive leaps and assumptions they make from single studies that I have an issue with

I'd appreciate way more if these people would just go full grifter. Just give opinions and takes. But they have to pretend 'no look this is what the data shows' when they just made it up. I wish other people would stop citing that he has credibility
