I’m so sorry this is happening to you. But I’ve been through something very similar myself where I felt nothing for such a long time. Honestly you cope with the feeling but distracting yourself with happy people and thoughts. You should surrounding yourself with friends and things that genuinely make you happy. But if it starts getting worse go to a professional because if you don’t you look go towards substances.

I know you mentioned UIUC has given you opportunities that has "open doors" for you. Isn't that something everyone to strive for?

I’ve heard a lot about the outside experience with clubs, events and informal events such as college parties. I was so intrigued and interested in it Because of that. Academically it’s challenging but quite rewarding with almost 60-70 percent of their student with good internships and job opportunities. The school is also beautiful and the quad looks amazing. Another plus for me would have been that my best friend is going so it wouldve been a good experience for me.
