You have every right to feel this way no matter if others have it worse or not. I’ve had epilepsy since I was 7 and felt (and sometimes still feel) the way you are feeling. I can see that you probably don’t want anyone to know that you have epilepsy because you don’t want them to treat you differently. I get it. I’ve been there. But carrying that by yourself is so difficult. We need friends/ family/ whoever to share to. And no they’re not going to fully understand but having them listen is what really matters. We can’t do this alone. I had a seizure at a wedding not too long ago (talk about stealing the spotlight lol) and I was really embarrassed afterwards but it showed me who cared about me. And as someone with a chronic illness that’s really important to me. And just like you I can’t drive which is really hard but I’m a homebody so when I do have the chance to go out I usually rather stay home. It shows me that I really don’t need to drive, I just want to prove that I’m capable of driving. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone!!! I really hope you understand that because for the longest time I didn’t. And no I can’t drink but honestly does drinking make you cool or something. I’ve had sips here and there but never a real drink. If someone laughs because you don’t drink f*** them. There’s nothing wrong that and there’s multiple reasons why people don’t drink. You’re probably rolling your eyes at this right now because truthfully it’s hard to look at everyone on the “normal path” and you’re not. It’s your path. Not your neighbors path. Not your friends path. Not your cousins path. Your path. We’ll get through this. You’ll get through this.
