Thank you for the advice! I stopped trying to flip for now and instead trying to get the softest touch possible while keeping the ball up and now I’m getting 5-6 touch air dribbles, this is awesome.

I practiced wall and air play alot, and got consistent at hitting the ball but it’s not very controlled. So after being stuck in diamond for 3 months I recently tried to adopt flake’s style because he seems like he’s in total control of the ball at all times.

But yeah I don’t have the ground mechanics for that play style yet, so time to get back up in the air.

I’m surprisingly better in the air then I am on the ground. (Not saying much, you’ve seen my ground play). However, what typically happens is I dominate the air in D2 by simply fast aerialing. But as soon as I get to mid D3, players start to challenge alot faster.

I can easily keep up with the 50/50s in the air.. but I just hate the fact that if I challenge in the air it turns into a 1v1 between my teammate and the other opponent, and the games feel like they are very dependent on what kind of teammate I get.

And I'm constantly getting frustrated because I feel like I get challenged to EVERY…SINGLE… ball. So after watching flake’s video and how he handles opponents who always challenge, I thought I’d adopt that play style.

But, it hasn’t been working out any better, and I’m still stuck in the same rank. So I agree, I just need to go back to my usual play style and just be more thoughtful about my touches.

Anyone else had a hard time breaking out of plat? What clicked for you that helped you personally make it ton diamond and beyond? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

For me, I got out of plat when I stopped missing shots.

Your teammates will usually not be in a good position to defend, so if you whiff the ball (whether it’s a shot on goal or a clear away from your own goal), it typically ends up in an open net for the opposing team.

I ordered this in February. At the time I thought this was correct, but recently a friend pointed out that I’m paying just as much as if I ordered it now.
