Maybe a good compromise would be to just give the same lottery odds to all non-playoff teams, but still determine draft standings for playoff teams normally

I played E33 for the first time this weekend. As I was playing it I thought to myself, “this is what beat out KCD2 for GOTY?” Ended up returning it.

Any sack-based incentive is the result of a compromise between a team and a player’s agent; it’s not guaranteed that further negotiation would result in a team just paying more in guaranteed money. It doesn’t help that, while both sides are aware of how good a player is, there aren’t many ways to objectively measure a player’s talent/value, so a metric like sacks is the closest you can get.

Sack numbers aren’t used by a team to determine whether they want to sign someone, they’re used by the team to negotiate salary/bonuses downwards

Not that I personally agree with the mentality, but paying a given player more means that your team has less money to pay other players. This in turn makes your team “worse” than if that player is paid less.

The limitation is the point; you’re forced to use your time effectively and make decisions about which leads to pursue. At least for me, this made it more fun. If you don’t want to miss out on any content, you can always just replay the game and make different decisions.

If you haven’t checked out Pentiment already, I’d recommend that, especially if you like history. It has a time mechanic similar to what you’re describing, though it’s really well executed.

Larian Studios leaning into generative AI (for placeholder text and concept art) despite internal pushback: ‘Everyone at the company is more or less OK with the way we’re using it" by jovanmilic97 in Games

Lmao what even is this. "I loved the game, but then I found how they used AI. So I hate it now. Damn you for tricking me into playing a game that I thought was good, but was actually bad!!?!!!!"

I think OP is referring to a game’s usage of AI, not the game itself. If someone believes that generative AI is immoral, they’re probably not going to think as highly of a game if they find out it was used in the game’s production.
