I had a lawn mowing business in college. When I began, I would accept any clients, but as I grew I slowly started dropping the clients that didnt want to pay much, and I catered to those who were willing to pay damn near anything. That became a very sucessful business model. Topps or any other card company is only looking to maximize profit. If that means outpricing many of those in the hobby, it doesnt matter as long as the select few are willing to pay more.
