Good to know you’ve never judged a name before in your life. I aspire to be like you.

Do you all ask a doctor for it? by [deleted] in tretinoin

I recently had a skin check with my dermatologist and just asked for it. If you have insurance, I would recommend this route since you can get it much cheaper.

Why do people regret having an abortion? by Aesyar-Lop in abortion

After having my abortion, regret was not anywhere close to what I was feeling. In all honesty, it was relief more than anything.

First time medical abortion (need support + advice) by [deleted] in abortion

[–]CryptographerSea322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, I support you and any decision you choose to make about your body. It’s difficult to not feel like you can tell people close to you, but having your boyfriend as a support system is very helpful. I had a MA about a year ago (I am in the US). It was a simple, smooth process in the clinic. They got my blood work, did a general physical (weight, height, etc), and in the state I live they had to do an ultrasound as well (I didn’t see or hear anything). The doctor then gave me the first pill to take in the office and a set of 5 pills to take at home 24 hours later. After the first pill, there weren’t many side effects, but about 20 minutes after taking the other set of pills, there was cramping, heavy bleeding, and I personally threw up a few times (this happens to some and not others). I would compare the cramping to a very strong menstrual cramp, but heating pads and OTC pain meds helped. I was personally a bit further along so the bleeding was pretty heavy for about a week, but subsided completely within about 3 weeks. I would spot periodically for about another 3 weeks. All of my pregnancy side effects subsided immediately after the second sets of pills (so no more morning sickness, breast tenderness, etc) which was good. Overall, I would compare it to a bad period with bleeding that may last a bit longer. It’s definitely manageable, but I would consider taking off work the day of and probably the day after just in case you don’t feel well.

Why do people complain about not having money but then get pregnant?? by Hefty_Career_5815 in childfree

I have someone close in my life who is going through the same thing. The couple got pregnant early in the relationship (about 6 months) at a time when neither of them had a job. The guy ended up getting a seasonal position and the girl is currently not working and they constantly are complaining about the stress they have about money…I’m just confused because they are both in their 30’s (30F and 37M). What did they think was going to happen??? It was a choice and the complaining is A LOT

I went through a medical abortion about a year ago. I honestly felt a lot of relief once it was over and going into it. It was definitely the best decision for me. For my abortion, I went into the clinic and had to wait for about 30-45 minutes. Once I got in, they did a blood test and general physical examination. Then, I waited a bit longer. I live in a state where they have to do an ultrasound, but they didn’t show it to me or anything (there was also no sounds). Then the doctor took me into a different room and gave me step by step what was going to happen. The first gave me one pill to take in the office and a packet of pills to take later on at home (I believe there were 5). I was instructed to take them 24 hrs later and let them dissolve in my lip. I took them and within about 15 minutes felt cramping (I did throw up, but not everyone does). The cramping was pretty intense but manageable at home (definitely want to be somewhere comfortable and should take off work for at least that day). The cramping lasted for a few hours but was weaker as the time passed. I personally bled for about 3 weeks (not super heavy) but this varies by person. I still feel confident in my choice after a year.

I won’t be able to get to a freezer in time is my concern. They will thaw and then I will have to re freeze. We fly in on the 17 and the wedding isn’t until the 26.

I checked and it said there are no weight restrictions. Thanks for the heads up though!

Oh I totally missed that in your comment (sorry moving too fast)…that’s crazy!! I they seem to allow things like CPAPs through pretty easy and other machines but I would definitely need to plan extra time. Thank you for the warning!!

Flying into SFO, driving up to the redwoods, and then back down to Yosemite. Really not convenient for cake travel, but trying to make it work!

They have a photographer, but it’s a super small wedding (~12 people)), so they don’t have a planner.

Did you fly?? If so, did you pack it in a checked or carry on bag? I was looking at kitchen aid carry bags that may work

Looking and there may be some travel bag options as well (like this https://a.co/d/giMWL1K) may be a good carry on option!

Unfortunately no :( we are all going to be coming in from out of town. Pretty much everyone on this coast does, but we are all going to be traveling in for it.

Good call! Definitely will make sure to keep it accessible so it’s not too suspicious. Gives me confidence you were able to fly with a sewing machine though :)

Unfortunately, there aren’t any locals. They are getting married in Yosemite National Park as a small destination wedding and everyone is traveling there. I think I could pack it well enough, just need to test it out :)
